Barnes is too passive. Perhaps that's something that could be changed over time, but he was the same way in college. Granted he's on a team where he isn't a top 3 option on offense. I'd take a flyer on him if they were looking to deal him, but there's no way they will until his rookie deal runs out. By then, other teams will be throwing a good chunk of cash at him based on that same "potential", so I'm inclined to look elsewhere. We could find the same production elsewhere without the name.

Reggie Bush anyone?

Barnes is big for the 3 position and athletic, yes he is passive but he can stretch a defense which is something nobody else on this team can do

I think LBJ or Durant would look good for the Pistons.

I would happily take Barnes, but i don't see any realistic way of getting him.
Maybe if GSW like smith a 3 team deal could be worked out, but it's very very very unlikely

Barnes has had 2 good games in the NBA one game each in last 2 playoffs.
Frankly would rather have Marcus Morris than Barnes.
Hot shot in HS
2 years in university got 8th on potential PER about 11 as a pro terrible player but over rated by GS.

Yes, F* Cleveland, indeed.

I'll just throw this out there to anybody- why not try and buy low on Shabazz Muhammad? We could probably snag him for something like Tony Mitchell and cash considerations.

I don't know, did somebody get injured which forced Adelman to finally play him?

Locking down 4 starting spots with high potential young players like KCP, Barnes, Monroe, and Drummond would be a dream come true. Barnes can also should the 3 and defend. Although, I think it would take a 3 team deal to get him here. Maybe something with Smith or Jennings going to the 3 third team and Barnes coming here.

I think he'd be an excellent player to take a shot at. He's still very young, still has great hops and a nice stroke, still has tons of potential on D, and he's still never played a decent season (which means his value is low). Problem is that his value hasn't fallen to the point that some seem to think it has. He had a bad year and it's becoming clear that he might not be a rising star or even a starting caliber player. But the GSW and most of the league hasn't come to that conclusion that he's a bust yet, and it's years too soon to tell that. If he stinks again next year, then we might be able to offer a late 1st or a young rotation player for him, but barring catastrophic injury, there's no way in the world that GSW would ever give him away for expirings, spare parts, or 2nd rounders as long as he's on a rook deal.

There's just no reason to give up on a talented young guy unless you're fully convinced that's he's a dud (e.g. Joe Alexander from a few years ago). If KCP plays a bit better this year than last but still doesn't make a leap, would you want to give up on him for the likes of Datome and a 2nd? Hell no. Same situation.

Could the Wolves snag KCP for Shved and cash? Shabazz had at least as good of a rookie year as KCP (though neither were good). Nobody expects rooks to be ready. You hope they get it by the 3rd season and then start to think about what to do with them.

i am on board with that , however Bazz still doesn't have the size, but at very least is low risk low reward

I wonder if GS would do something like Singler, #38 and a future second for Barnes lol. I highly doubt it but I dont know what else we have to give.

Lol Warriors aren't giving up Barnes for a similar caliber player when he's one of the pieces that get included when they're trying to upgrade position, like the Love rumors. His stock is a joke.

I'd rather have Matt Barnes lmao.

People are still high on him based purely on his hype coming out of college. He literally had one good playoff game over a year ago. That's his resume. That's it!

He's very athletic, but isn't a good decision maker or skilled player.

I would trade for him if the cost was fair, but I wouldn't even sacrifice a good role player for him.

I am intrigued by his size and athleticism. He has a decent stroke on his shot. Maybe he's a late bloomer. I also like the $3million in salary.
