What could we offer for this guys? (Realistic thread)

Dragic - I think he could be a great PG for us, nice range, can finish to the rim, average defender and smart player who can play very well the pick n roll.

Gallinari - I'm scared about his injuries, but he was an awesome player who can shoot, rebound, pass, defend, and he's a smart guy too.

Batum - I think is an impossible trade, what do you think we could offer for him?

Rondo - If Celtics draft Smart, seems like Rondo will be traded. What we could offer for him? Seems so difficult but he's one of my favorite players, ultracompetitive and great defender and got an incredible BBIQ.

Wilson Chandler - He's not great at anything but he's above average in all aspects of the game for his position, and we need a SF NOW.

I think just one of all these players could make us a so much better team than right now.

We have a shot at one of Gallo or Chandler, especially if we take on one of their longer-term contracts (they have absolutely no flexibility going forward), but the Celtic's asking price for Rondo has been absurd (relative to what he's actually done, which is never actually lead a good offense), and Batum and Dragic are not options. Those teams have 0 reason to move them. I know everyone is under the impression that they were going to move one of Bledsoe or Dragic, but they played well together, and they have stated that they want to keep them together long term. Batum is a critical piece of a very young playoff team.

Chandler's value is pretty low, but we'd have to do better than expiring contracts for him. A first round pick is way too much value. Maybe a second plus some expiring contracts? Or taking on another contract of theirs? I don't know, we should ask the guys on the trade and transactions board.

Gallo's a huge risk since he's coming off an injury, so his value is hard to get a read on, but certainly more than Chandler's.

Gal or Chandler wouldn't move the needle much IMO while Rondo, Batum or Dragic would cost us Monroe.

Of those 3 Batum would be my target, simply because he could initiate the offense and allow Jennings to play off the ball.

But would we trade Monroe for Batum? Would Portland do it?

Drummond, Smith, Batum, KCP, Jennings....

Monroe, LMA, ???, Wes, Lillard

Portland doesn't do that. Robin Lopez has been outstanding for them

Yeah, Monroe isn't nearly as valuable to Portland as Batum is. That may seem odd given Batum didn't have all that impressive a season, but he fits very well with the rest of their core while Monroe strikes me as an awkward fit for them at center which, btw, is not a major position of need for them at the time either.

Robin Lopez is a perfect fit for the blazers next to LMA. The blazers need to bolster their bench, not tinker the starting lineup.

I like Gallo but if Denver is willing to part with him then that is a huge red flag. Since we have no real trade assets just about any player we trade for is going to be overpaid or unhealthy. Denver will trade us Gallo if he is hurt.

KCP and filler can get you Wilson but do you want to cash in the potential for Chandler?

What I am seeing is that the teams that have the players we need dont need what we have. So its not about making a lateral trade for fit purposes. Its about not having enough talent.

Monroe is Detroit's best trade chip outside of giving away future first round picks. Drummond isn't getting dangled out as trade bait.

Noting that- all the teams mentioned don't have a need for a player like Monroe, as he either doesn't fit the team or the style of the team.

Dragic - No way Phoenix are trading him

Gallinari - His injuries are a worry and i'm pretty sure Denver are still high on him. He may cost too much to take a risk.

Batum - Monroe for Batum is pretty far value wise, but monroe doesn't on the blazers with Lopez and Aldridge.

Rondo - I like Rondo, and we could offer Monroe, but will that be enough? Also if Rondo comes in, Jennings deal would be too high a price for a back up PG. He'd need to go somewhere. Rondo has injury concerns too.

Wilson Chandler - i like chandler. Not sure what denver would want for him. I wouldn't give up Monroe. Maybe Smith and sweetener for Chandler and filler??

The drama we have is we have no real trade assets other than Monroe and our cap space.

Utah showed last off-season that cap space can get you something but anyone who thinks the answers will come via trade might end up extremely disappointed.

Our best bet is free agency, where we could sign some decent role players.

For all the talk about how terrible our starters worked together its also noteworthy that outside of KCP or Singler and maybe Jorts our bench is terrible!

Drummond, Monroe, Smith, Singler, KCP, Jennings, Jorts...if that's our best 7 we're in dire need of help.
