Looking at a couple rumored potential teams:

Lakers- #7, not much else to offer since they gave up future picks in Steve Nash trade.

Pelicans- Holiday, Evans, Anderson.

Washington- I have 0 interest in Otto Porter.

Atlanta- Milsap, Korver, Williams.

Best bet is a deal with NOP, #7 does intrigue me though.

Jrue or no trade.

The Hornets like Jrue so much they moved a #6 and #10 pick for him. Why do you think they will move him for Monroe? Do you understand how insane that sounds? Monroe is not an all-star, Monroe would be getting 10-15mpg off the bench if he played for this years Spurs. He's also a free agent about to leave for nothing, whose own franchise sounds like they're not going to overpay to keep him.

The Pelicans also laughed at offers for Ryan Anderson all year. Why would they give him up now for a player who does not fit next to Davis at all? Unless his back is gone it makes no sense (and medicals will reveal that).

Pellies didn't trade #6 and #10, they traded #6 and a 2014 first rounder and you can be sure they thought this years pick would be in the mid-teens or later when the made that trade. They didn't expect their lockerroom to become a MASH unit and miss the play-offs and end up with the #10 pick to send over.

And your contention that Monroe would only be a 10 minute back-up is comical - I mean why would NO even want him then? Why would Monroe be worth near the max if not the max on the RFA open market?

Utter silliness.

C'mon man, even myself, who don't want Monroe here, can't hate Monroe like you're doing it

Monroe is a very good player, he could have been great into a Pop system, not a 15 minutes player, that's crazy.

Love is one of the best PF of the league and I don't want him here either, I don't like the anticompetitive players or players who don't put his max effort on the court, specially on defense. And Monroe seems sometimes like he doesn't give a f**k about win the game, just to puts his stats (but even with that, can help a lot to win a game)

But Monroe got very good post skills, he's a good rebounder, not good at the defensive rebound but great at the offensive and getting easy buckets, he's highly IQ and good passer, he got a very good first step and he can shoot a little bit. He's a good post defender too, put him next to a rim protector PF and he's not going to be a liability on defense. So I'm agree with you, we're not going to get Ryno or Holiday, not because of his talent or value, but that isn't how a S&T works and you never get the real player's value.

Monroe can't play D and he can't shoot. How the heck could he have fit in with the Spurs this season? All the Spurs bigs can either play D (Splitter), shoot (Bonner), or do both (Duncan and Diaw). Monroe would be lucky to see 10-15 minutes on that team. Even Splitter, who plays fantastic D, only saw 20-25 mpg, because the Spurs usually preferred to keep more shooters on the floor to stretch the other team's D.

I agree the Pelicans thought their pick would be higher (probably more like 13-17), and the injuries did them over, but they traded it knowing the risk of it being 10 (or higher), and they did it because they really like Jrue. I can't imagine why they'd trade him for a player they don't even need, who doesn't fit there, and who would be very expensive. Your own team is sending pretty public signals they don't think he is worth the money, so why should NOLA be so dumb then? It's desperate teams who will pay Monroe big, because you have to overpay to steal a restricted free agent.

I think offers I suggested like T.Ross were very, very generous. I'm not even sure the Raptors would agree to that. Yet I keep seeing all this "give us Rhyno" or "no, Jrue AND Rhyno!" nonsense.

No, you misread. I'm saying those would be the only three I'd be interested in acquiring. Not all 3 as a package. Didn't think I would have to make that clear but I guess I do.

Monroe is not an allstar. Very good player but let's be real. He's a center and not a PF.
