Washington is going to be our headache with Monroe me thinks. But what does Stan feel is fair value to pay Monroe? $11M? $12M? So what's the BFD in matching if Washington maxes him out? A couple million we feel overpriced?

WIz want to keep Gortat since he'll likely be cheaper and more or less just as effective as Monroe as a big. I think we'll be fine tbh, the only darkhorse I see are likely the Lakers making some desperate move or Phoenix but they have Bledsoe's RFA to worry about too. With NOP most likely out of the picture, the view becomes a little bit more clearer.

lmao. If you acknowledge other teams realize Monroe isn't any better than these other bigs (who can be had for much less) why do you want us to overpay for him??

Who are these dozens of bigman at half price that can produce similarly to Monroe if I may ask?

There goes our best trade partner :nonono:

I guess they realized what some here have been saying all year...why pay 15 mil/yr for Monroe, when there's dozens of bigs available just as good for half the price?

That's how the Pistons should be thinking too. Paying Monroe that much is insane.

I'm referring to this gem. If there truly are "dozens" as you imply, then surely you can actually come up with a comprehensive and long list? I laugh at the notion that there are "dozens" that are "available" that can match production of Monroe and at half the base salary. That's nonsense.

Hawes can put the same numbers and can shoot, for the half price of Monroe.

Davis being able to play both PF and C effectively with Anderson and Asik rotating at one of the other spots is as near of an ideal situation as you could plan. If you're not a fan of Asik your opinion will be different but I think he's a damn good defending and rebounding center regardless of how many minutes he plays.

I am sure they plan on signing him to a long term extension however he hasn't agreed to one. My point is i don't think NOL abandons their plan for Moose because they have asik. Ryan anderson health has also been a question, this might provide some insurance

NOH may have never even planned to pursue Monroe. They certainly will not now that they have Asik, still have Robin Lopez and Ryan Anderson. They will not give up assets for bigs when they are set in that department.

Monroe will be a Piston next season.
