I say there is a 13.2% chance Monroe signs the QO. 5.6% chance he's S&T'd, and the remaining 81.2% chance he re-signs here - I'll guess a three year deal with the third year a PO, total value being $38M.

This is a good point... you would like think that two of these positions would be addressed by free agency and the other via the draft... but what doesn't get mentioned much is other teams having the same assets to work with... there is no signs of our team improving more than anyone else in the East (the opposite case could be made).
I'm a little concerned about Drummond building ties with team USA coaches & players... we don't have multiple years to make this team competitive.

That last part also has me concerned. SVG needs to go after guys that have definitive fits on the roster, basically guys that can shoot and defend at the 1,3 and 4 but not big names. Get these guys while everyone else is holding out hope they can get a star. I see us having a better shot than a lot of other teams because Drummond still has so much room to improve, if he doesn't get better we are screwed regardless.

I do agree,this season will be very telling weather or not svg can regin in smith and have him playing to his strengths at the 4,if smith does look better this season,then use the money at the 1 and 3 positions and sign a quality backup that can play at the 4 and 5 spot.

I have no concerns with Smith at the 4, but we need a long term answer there as well as since Monroe being gone would leave us with a hole behind both frontcourt spots why not bring in a guy that could fill that void and replace Smith in the future.

I still expect Monroe to sign a long term deal, either with us or in a sign and trade. There is just too much money on the table. He just doesn't strike me as that much of a gambler.

^He killed any S&T with his agent's "He'll take the QO" leak, because teams will simply wait a year to get him. To play Devils Advocate though, maybe Falk was trying to entice teams without cap space to trade for him now because they won't be able to get him next year with the QO threat being nothing more than a "Look, Greg wants out badly" message and you better trade for him now because in a years time he'll have LAL and NYK bidding for him.
