Having an actual coach, is a huge plus for the Pistons. It also is going to be huge for Drummond, as SVG has experience with his exact type, in Howard.

I am of the firm belief that this year is going to suck, but the following year, and more importantly the year after that, are going to be the start of some special Piston team centered(pun intended)around this guy.

Yeah I hope to see a lot of consistency and change by the All-star break.

I honestly wish that some people weren't as critical about SVG (about preseason rotations, lol) because the man is one of the best three coaches in the league.

the fact that he has almost total control over the franchise makes very excited because he knows how the game works and he knows what kinds of players he can use. if we are seeing this much improvement already in one offseason (with the player transactions) and preseason (in their style of play) can you imagine this team in 2-3 years?

honestly I don't give owners enough credit sometimes but hiring SVG (for 5 years?) and giving him full control was a ballsy move but I think it will absolutely pay off. most owners don't recognize the importance of coaching and just spend money on players...

i think the pistons are in a very good situation going forward. they have a ton of cap room/flexibility and have a top 3 coach in the league to go along with a bunch of talent (though most of it yet unharnessed) and they play in the eastern conference which should be pretty weak for the next ~5 years. the only thing that might be a bear is that the central division has the potential to be by far the best division in basketball in 5 years lol.

I prayed for SVG the minute the off-season began...to say I'm happy thus far is an understatement

It has been so long since this team had a real coach it's amazing any of us watch games.
SVG will improve this team across the board and I can't wait to watch.
