That's a good stat line, but watching some of the things he does is so frustrating. So many of his passes and shots are just thrown without any energy or force, he looks lazy so much of the time. If he was engaged all game and didn't have those moments he'd be amazing. He also needs to work on his post game. It's just bad for someone of his caliber and experience.
Smith has bad body language and doesn't play with effort- I think the team picks ups on that. That said, he looked good passing and rebounding tonight. He is still a poor offensive player.
If Smith has a good statistical season under SVG then we can ship him out for value as opposed to peanuts. Thats really what I'm hoping for. Smith is too old to fit with our core and I think Drummond looks a lot better alongside Monroe. If we had managed to lock up Monroe, I think Smith would be moved this season, but since Monroe's still in flux, I think in the offseason we will try to 5 year max Monroe and move Smith shortly before or after.
On another note, all our scrubs- Butler, Singler, Martin had good games. Augustin also looked very good tonight.
PG went for a position of weakness to a strength so quickly now that Billups/Bynum have been replaced and Jennings has real competition for his starting spot.
