Hey dudes, I got this game on opening day and I have only been able to play one online quick match. Servers are royally messed up.

I'm not sure if its just a problem finding opponents or not, so if anyone has the game for PS3 and wants to try and get a game in, let me know.

I actually missed out on a bunch of guys I wanted (draft went slightly differently), but I still have a fun, young team. My owner recognizes we're rebuilding, so all he cares about for the first year are getting 19 home wins, keeping public perception and morale high, and getting another 1st round pick.

I picked 21st overall in a serpentine draft, so I picked 10th in even-numbered rounds. Keep in mind that this is a complete re-draft from scratch, and age and contracts matter -- KG went in the 12th round, and I didn't want him for 12 mil a year even though he would have helped me win some more games. We're ridiculously under the cap (by like 18 million, even after some cheap FA signings), which should help with some trades later.

1-21 Andre Drummond (of course; that was the whole point)
2-10 Andrew Wiggins (he went mid-second in my practice draft, and I wanted to build from the bottom)
3-21 Manu Ginobili (highest rated player left; expiring; led us in scoring in a victory in our first game)
4-10 Marcus Smart (wasn't sure about this, but he's great fun to play PG with if you don't shoot jumpers)
5-21 Ryan Anderson (great pair for Andre; was just about the highest rated PF left anyway)
6-10 Doug McDermott (wanted Stauskas, but he went 2 picks earlier)
7-21 Chris Anderson (vet; fun guy; best center available)
8-10 Ray McCallum (nice PG prospect)
9-21 Mike Miller (vet; shooter, but it turns out I hate him, because his release is so slow it kills me)
10-10 Evan Fournier (pretty good SG prospect)
11-21 Mitch McGary (not highly rated, but faster than most PF and should develop well)
12-10 Shelvin Mack (best semi-young player available)

Anyway, I have a bunch of true rookies. The general consensus of the pre-season power rankings had us 29th. When I play the games, we're competitive, but I'm pretty sure my sim games are going to go really poorly due to lack of b-ball IQ at both ends. I also drafted for loyalty, lack of interest in money (except Andre), and less injury-prone guys (with some exceptions, of course). We'll see how it goes.

Not sure whether or not I'll buy 2k this year once I finish my university exams. I buy it every year and all I play is MyCareer. Here in Australia it's difficult to find online matches so MyTeam sucks. That post made MyGM sound interesting though.

MyCareer is fun, too... but they don't let you get drafted this year. You wait for an offer of a 10-day contract, make a team, and then try to stick and improve. I tried out for the Pistons, of course... in fact, I made my guy a SF just so I'd fit. I've already displaced Josh Smith as the starting SF and am about to pass Andre as the highest rated guy on the team. I'm putting up consistent lines of about 30pts-16rebs-8ast already, but I'm only playing on Pro. Other than looking better (PS4) it feels pretty similar. I think they've done a better job with contact and defensive AI, but it's not stellar.

MyPark (taking your guy to play against other MyPlayers) is awesome, except the servers have had real trouble. The only time I've gotten consistent runs of games in without crashes or other problems is early AM on the west coast. Not a big deal for me, since I play a lot late at night, but I'm sure it's annoying as hell for a lot of people.

Pretty awesome during my career mode Drummond came to my house and tried convincing me to team up with him, I was going to but my guy is a Center and I feel like It would make me the starter and put him on the bench.

Yeah, once you're on the Pistons Drummond is the one talking to you after games... with his actual voice. Apparently, they got one guy from each team to do a bunch of voice recordings, and Andre was the guy from the Pistons. His voice acting is TERRIBLE... but I still like it because he did it.

Yeah he was playing really good actually, pretty clutch. His guy is a pg so its Dre's face in a point guards body which is pretty funny. I lost to him the only time I faced him while a few of my buddies beat him a couple times. They are still playing right now.

I didn't buy last year's game and my Internet cannot handle playing online which sucks.. but now that the NBA is back I'm so tempted to buy the new 2K :( but I'd also then want to get a next Gen console and another game.. so I'd be in like $500-$600

Is it really good?

Depends on how much $600 is to you. My budget's pretty tight, but I didn't buy anything unnecessary for most of the summer and bought a PS4, Destiny, and 2K15.

Can't say I regret it. :-)

Xbox One's are on sale for $350 for a couple weeks- that includes the bundles that come with Assassin's Creed or Sunset Overdrive. You can have that and 2k15 for just over $400- less if you trade in your old system.

This is true, I didn't know this. You get AC-Black Flag and another AC game I think. I've never played AC, but I have thought I'd like it so I went that direction. Sunset Overdrive looks like it'd **** with me, but maybe that's something to get in the future.

(I went out and got it :P). Xbox1, AC game(s), Forza Horizon 2, NBA 2K15, and an extra controller. "All that" was $550.01. KIND OF a impulse purchase. Figured that I probably won't be buying another game system for a long time... so whatever. meh. I'll let you guys know how it goes :)

I think the PS4 is definitely worth it. I currently have Destiny, NBA2K15(I just beat my friend by 25 with the Pistons earlier), Madden 15, COD Ghost, COD Advanced Warfare, and I've per-ordered Grand Theft Auto 5 already.
