What do you mean YOU PEOPLE??

Seriously though, Dre does look a little out of it. Maybe he is frustrated because he's getting into foul trouble or he's still learning SVGs system, either way, he doesn't look like he's enjoying himself. Hopefully there's no lockerroom issues and it's just the learning process.

I think its a result of Dre finally gettin some actual coaching.

1st year:

"Dre go out there, provides size, get rebounds , get easy buckets. Here's Bynum use him wisely"

2nd year:

"Dre go out there , provide size, get rebounds, block shots, get easy buckets. Here's Bynum"

3rd year:
"Dre we need you to play defense, run the court, block shots, get rebounds, We are also going to post you up, run pick and rolls. We need you to play disciplined D, and recognize the help side. "

Dre whereever he's gone been a huge athletic guy, that coaches gush over. Now he's being coached by a guy who isn't going to ignore errors and poor technique.

i can't repeat this enough, Dre's going to go through mistakes in year 3 that he should have gone through in year 1

Which is fine. Difference is in the first year you're trying to get used to the speed of the game. This year he's learning fundamentals. It's healthy.

This thread is getting hystrionic. It has been 5 games. We're asking Drummond to do much more than we've ever asked him to do, at both ends of the court. He's improved his skills a lot, and on O we're throwing it to him on posts up for the first time in his career. We're asking him to do much more on D, in a new defensive system, than we've ever done.

Of course his efficiency with all this new stuff, in the heat of the battle, is going to take him time to adapt to. This is all new and it'll take time for the game (including all of this) to slow down for him again.

This is classic 1 step back so he can take two steps forward stuff.

And all this talk about how he's not wanting it enough or working hard enough is just so much blather, and directly contrary to all the evidence we've seen that he's a very hard working, coachable and great kid.

Y'all need to chill!

Anyways, glad to see the Pistons playing like a real basketball team. Their defense continues to be solid overall. The ball movement was much improved. Josh continued to do Josh type things.

I wonder how well their defense will hold up against elite teams? We'll found out soon enough.

Oh yeah, Drummond really needs to stop with the senseless fouls.

I don't get it. What does Jabarri have to do with our draft pick? It's not like we would've had the chance to draft him.

Exactly what new is he being asked to do on the defensive side of the floor? And once again, it's more of the type of fouls he's picking up that is the concern. If he was making good aggressive fouls, it'd be more tolerable but he's not. These are stupid, silly fouls that he's committing.....he's always committed them. Please try your best to blame that on the defensive system, I dare you.

Offensively though, things have seemed to slow down for him which is very encouraging. He seems to be working on developing an actual go to move, which he hasn't showed very often in the two previous seasons. I like the way he's coming along offensively.....it hasn't just been dunk, dunk, dunk, like the past and I'm encouraged by that. But doesn't change the fact the things on the other side of the floor.
