that's one of the good things about SVG, you know his teams are always going to compete.

Well, SVG's prior teams have always competed. He's never dealt with a mess like this lockeroom before though. SVG the GM is going to have to make some moves help SVG the coach keep that record going.

Our schedule was much easier to begin last season- not a series of back to back games. Additionally, SVG is trying to get these kids to play correctly, and give Drummond reps in the post. He's more concerned with improving than anything.

Our record sucks, but I can see improvement in each game. SVG will turn it around.

I see improvement in each game but the fact that josh smith did not box out just really makes me a little angry.

That's two boneheaded plays that lead to losses in a row. Same old lack of fundamentals.

Also, when BJ (who played great) is getting abused on D (when other teams go big guards like Rasual butler) I want to see Dinwiddie play. I can't wait until our starting guards are Dinwiddie/KCP because then we'll have a strong defense and offense, and teams won't be able to bear us by throwing a big 2 guard into the game and making KCP switch off of the point guard.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

What? Last year in our first 8 games we played washington, memphis, indiana, okc, portland, and golden state. Our only 2 tough games this year were chicago and washington and both of those teams are banged up.

This really was one of the easiest parts of our schedule and we clearly haven't taken advantage of it.

Almost all of our losses were games we could have won in the final two minutes. If a couple dumb plays don't happen, we could easily be sitting at 6-2.

We haven't had a blowout loss yet, which is a stark improvement in of itself. The team isn't giving up in the 4th, but now they need to figure out how to close games.

People who are criticizing SVG as a coach really just need to have their basketball fan card's revoked. He's had this team playing much better in a very short span of time. Last season, there was no point in nit picking this team- everything was awful!

On the money... losing to good teams on their court early in the new regime is nothing to be ashamed of... to me it looks like they are ahead of schedule... they're getting closer to understanding the system and where to look for right opportunities... as long as Jennings doesn't get a big head and Smith keeps thinking passing beats shooting.
I'm considering upgrading the win predictions.

Anybody saying Smith didn't box out is just looking for something to blame him for because that's a load of crap.

He didn't. He took three steps in and did not have his body on Pierce.

The rebound came off oddly and well over his area.

Huh? He didn't box out. It's not even debatable. Instead of putting his body on his man, he stepped forward and went for the rebound. That is not the reason we lost the game, but it was a clear error.

"Oddly and well over his area" because he stepped in instead of boxing OUT. You can't box out if you're moving in lmao.

Boxing out had nothing to do with where that ball came out. You don't box out all the way back to the free throw line on a free throw attempt because odds are it's a short rebound.

You box out to wherever the offensive player is. Otherwise, it isn't boxing out - it's just standing there. This really shouldn't even be debatable on a basketball board. If you are the inside guy on a free throw, your first responsibility is to turn and get your body up against the person in the second slot. If the ball comes out short, you've got the guy on your back and you can easily grab it. If the ball comes out long, you've still got inside position to go up for it.
