I thought we would win around 40 games,Iam lowering that to about 26-28 games as we stand now.I really hope stan is the type of guy who knows when to shut it down and thats right after all star break.I really hope he dosent get caught up in those empty wins, and goes for them to appease gores.
For all these years guys have been calling for big ben as a big man coach and I think now is the time.Stan needs to give up the hope that dre is going to turn into moose but with better defense and athletism. He needs to model his game after ben and call it a day, bring ben in to help dre be that ultimate garbage man.
Not to mention ben would be an awesome vet to have in those locker rooms and a guy who can command the respect over a guy like smith, big ben isnt going to take any ****.

10 wins if SVG keeps this same roster until the end of the season.

40 wins is definitely off the table for these guys. Detroit used to be know for rugged hardworking teams. The crap we have on the floor is a bunch of going through the motions mental midgets.
KCP is working hard on both ends. Drummond is hit and miss, but this is mainly a developmental year for him. I'm onboard with most of the team being traded. Pursue Reggie Jackson and Perkins or pursue Rondo...make changes and get some competitors on the team.

SVG choose to hold onto Smith when he could've unloaded him for scraps- thats not on Joe D- thats on SVG. It wasn't Joe D who didn't get us a SF this offseason when we had the cap- it was SVG who choose to sign the very mediocre Augustin/Butler/Martin/Gray. SVG is coaching this dumpster fire and now running the offense through our worst offensive player- thats not on Joe D.
I'm revising my expectations for this season down to 17-23 wins.
Actually it is 110% Joe Asshoole's fault
Traded away our 1st round pick to get rid of another one of his fcuk ups
Then used the cap space to sign Josh Trash, giving him a deal that was and still is untradeable
He also hired a schmuck for a coach in Cheeks that destroyed our season last year
Didnt trade Stuckey when he had a chance to get something, anything for him until Stuckey actually hurt us by contributing to at least 4-5 wins last season
Did you also forget that he tied up our cap space with dumb ass contracts which we are still feeling the effects of this year (Jerebko, Datome, Will Bynum-Joel Anthony = 10M extra we could have had to go after a big FA last offseason)
And as for SVG not trading away Jennings, pretty sure no one would want Jennings when Isiah Thomas got his money and Lowry got paid a few more million and both are much better players than Brandon. As for Josh Smith, who knows what the exact deal that the Kings offered. If it was Landry and Thompson for Smith, that puts us in the same position bc we would still owe our PFs around 12.5M anyways.
Im not saying SVG is not at fault but blaming him for his rotations is dumb too because if he sits Smith his trade value plummets even worse than if he is playing. He would turn into Charlie V part 2. At least SVG is trying to show that Smith CAN be valuable if he isnt given the opportunity to shoot aka put in a system where there arent enough shots for him to begin with and he is able to do other things.
Joe Dumars fcuked this organization from A to Z and turned us into the laughingstock of the league. So yeh ill continue to blame Joe D for this mess he created

The Joe D blame is 100% warranted.
I stopped watching any more than the 4th quarter 5-6 games ago for the most part, so I can't really comment too much on SVG's coaching. But why is it that Cheeks has out coached him record wise when we have 9 players this year that were here last year? Is it moreso due to Dre's slow start/Smith struggling even more than last year and the lack of Stuckey & Bynum?

Honestly I think its just showing that this group of talent cant play into a system at all and just dont mesh. Cheeks kinda let them have free will and I think it lead to a few more wins. Guys like Jennings and Smith can give you wins at some point playing selfish ball but you just cant win with these guys as you're number 1 options.

He clearly **** up, but at the same time he was pushed into that corner by Gores... so I want to blame Gores partially...
3-15 is much worse than I expected so far, and I don't know about my 30-35 win projection now... I just want to tank, develop, and learn...

Still blaming Joe D?
Did SVG bring in a single difference maker to this team?
Forget that. He couldn't even get his own player re-signed.

Re: Pistons 14/15 Expectations and Record Projection - REDO
I don't blame SVG for that one bit. Why would Monroe want to resign with us? We have a losing culture and this isn't exactly a great FA destination/desirable place to live like LA or New York. Heck, forget that. What about the fact that we brought someone in who plays the exact same position as him to start?
If I'm in his position I'll take the QO or ask for a sign and trade just like he did. Sure, the potential for injury is there and you give up guaranteed money that you could get by signing a long-term deal but honestly, money isn't everything. Ben Gordon, Charlie V, Josh Smith all came here because we offered them quite a bit of money, and their careers suffered because of it (Well CV wasn't that good before anyway). ESPECIALLY Ben Gordon, who was stuck in a log jam at SG with Rip. His career basically ended after he left Chicago. Ironically we brought in Smith and created the another log jam at PF a few years later. I'd rather wait and sign a contract with with a better organization that has a team with a winning culture or at least on the upswing like Washington and put myself in a position to play well, rather than take the money and stick through this garbage.
SVG didn't bring in a difference maker, sure, but that's difficult to do when you don't have the draw of being a good team or being a top FA destination. if the narrative that Gores pushed Joe D to act quickly to improve the team short-term or he would be fired were true, then he is also very much to blame. Don't EVEN get me started on trading away BG with a pick instead of just amenstying him.

Lowest wins in franchise history:
- 16 (79-80)
- 20 (93-94)
- 21 (80-81)
1993-1994 was the last season we had Thomas, Laimbeer, and Dumars together
***Also that year we won the lottery and got Grant Hill in the draft
Ironic thing is any of our past 5 coaches that started 3-15 would have been fired.
Coach Van Gundy has to have pictures of President Van Gundy because this is ridiculous. Like someone said before, even with the same core roster last year we were atleast mediocre. Now we are such sh**, flys don't even want to be around us.

Re: Pistons 14/15 Expectations and Record Projection - REDO
Unfortunately no quick fixes for this team.
Monroe likely gone for nothing unless SVG can find a trading partner that will start him?
The only one I could see is Atlanta the return won't be good but at least something like Dennis Schroeder, DeMarre Carroll & Brand. You could get a PG of the future.
Smith is only movable if you give up something the only remote possibility is SAC but doubt it.
Jonas Jerebko, Joel Anthony, Gigi Datome, Kyle Singler, DeMarre Carroll & Brand are expiring contracts.
Jenning expires next year but could see him moved for a expiring on a team that needs a 6th man.
No matter what this team is unfortunately bad and no miracle can fix it short term so see Pistons win 12 to 15 games. maximum 4th worst in the league maybe 2nd worst.
Not a good situation but must bottom out before moving up.

Good! I'm tired of this team being mediocre and missing out on the best prospects in the draft, despite never coming close to making the post season.
I'll take every loss with a grin and hope the Cavs aren't in the lottery again. We could use a top 2 pick, especially when the current top 2 players figure to be franchise changers.
