The thing that concerns me most about Monroe's game is his vulnerability when double-teamed. Boston chose not to bring second defender and Monroe was very productive. However, sooooo many times when pressured, he either has the ball snatched from his hands or he panics and throws a bad pass. I don't see him changing that. The only solution is to have 4 other scoring threats on the floor and the defenders don't dare leave their man.

He's the latest Stuckey - has some tools but not driven to round out his game.

We need driven players who will work to improve! Can't have Monroe making 14 mil and not capable of hitting from 15 feet!

Ahh the good old new skool "my big has to shoot 25 footers or he isn't good or can't space the floor" argument. I have no clue who taught you young'ns this nonsense but you should have ignored them.

ahhhhhh. Remember when SVG made it to the nba finals with one dominant big man "dwight" now "Drummond" had the best "backup center" gortat and now he makes monroe a back up "center" bc both gortat and monroe couldn't be used successfully as starters bc they couldn't shoot 15feet .. ahhh remember when svg had forwards who can shoot 15 feet "rashard lewis" "heido turkoglo" and , again, made it to the nba finals.. ahhh how stupid to say such comments!! It can so work with monroe and Drummond duhhh its bc we have josh smith!! And SVG is loosing his "mind" now. It cant be bc greg isnt that good. No way. Impossible

I was actually going to respond until you attempted to blame our failures on "Greg Monroe not being good" then I realized you're either extremely under educated on bball or you're trolling. Either way, I'll pass.

I don't see how you could possibly argue with what Pharaoh is saying. He'd be a far better player if he had a legitimate mid range jumper. Nobody needs him to jack up threes...just a reliable mid range jumper he can hit from 15 feet out to keep the defense honest and make him a threat in pick and pop situations.

Having a reliable mid range jumper and not settling for them would STILL make him a better player, because people guarding him would have to crowd him, giving his teammates more room to operate and making it easier for him to blow by people in the high post....super basic stuff. Most elite bigmen in the league have a semi-reliable jumper.

Too late to worry about that though, he's likely leaving anyway.
