What I"ve relized since smith was here,is he isnt good in preasure situations.Iam going to wait until playoff time befor houston fans really get to see what smith is all about.Aside from that 3 and his fga, smith had a good game, but wait until the honey moon period is over and he chucks a 3 with 12 sec left on the clock with harden in the corner. That"s smith game,he has a good couple of games then he has ONE BIG WTF game lol.

Loved our team tonight, love the feeling of a win,but dont want them to get to many of those lol.I just want to see them competitive and still get a high pick and take johnson.

The quotes, while not directly touching on Josh Smith, do say a lot.

''I think the ball just moved,'' Monroe said. ''Guys were aggressive, but they were smart at the same time. We just took good shots.''

''It's definitely a sign of how we should play, but it's only one game,'' Jennings said.

We got a lot of people involved. Our ball movement was great. -SVG
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Yes & no. He is deadly in the high post attacking which keeps his defender honest which creates plenty of space for Drummond similar to what a jump shot would do. So yeah, a few more jumpers like tonight would be cool but not too many.. Still want him dominating in that paint 90% of the time.

I obviously don't want him to become a shooter but you cannot deny that adding a reliable jumpshot helps a lot. He's 7 of 15 from 16 feet out so far this season- he needs to keep that up to keep the defense honest and create more space for Drummond.

Greg continues to look solid defensively, interesting stat- opposing bigs are shooting 44% when Greg defends them (3% less than their average FG). They are shooting 56% against Greg under 6 feet (4% less than their average).

I want to take an exception to SVG's comments saying that there really isn't a great young defensive team if you look back. That's actually true, and probably why we gave up so much points to the 2nd worst offense last night.

But even then, you can feel the intensity and effort was there, which is what you want in the end and hopefully that translates to experience and results.

Shout out to my dude Smith for his win tonight too. I'm not going to lie, I had to watch my guy make his debut with the Rockets.

This guy SVG. :-?

Billups, RIP, Tay, and Sheed, were shooters.

That's true, Sheed was a good defender though. And he was a beast in the paint on the sneak.

Tune's a Rocket fan now

When healthy, the wizards were a pretty good young defensive team a couple years back.

That would be amazing. His stock is rising, he might end up being a top 3 pick before it's said and done.

My take of tonights game:

First: you know its bad when our team talks about Ball movement and we think they are taking shots at smith.....

Jennings: He is a a*hole. He always flashes this sort of potential but then follows it up with a crappy game. Defensively he was a absolute menace. While he didn't always get the steal, he was tipping balls and playing pretty decent defense. Offensively watching jennings in transition is fun. I found myself at times pouting when jennings wasn't in this game because of the excitement he brought. Never really thought i'd say that.

KCP/Meeks: I don't know if it is due to more spacing, but KCP either was more aggressive or had more space to operate. He seem'd aggressive all game. He;s a perfect winning for the type of player jennings is. Meeks continues to impress, everyone said that we overpay'd i beg to differ. He brings a offensive aggressiveness we need. He's literally Stuckey with a jump shot.

Moose & Dre: Both looked like they were out to prove a point. The biggest aspect of Waiving smith is now our offense is built around our young bigs. Its seems SVG starts with Moose/Dre lineup, and then eventually rotates them in for each other. Moose really suprised me with his defense today, he looked real good. Moose ability to play both positions opens up some pretty interesting and effective lineups. Monroe was also hitting all his jump shots. Which isn't as shocking as him actually shooting jump shots. As i said a million times, if moose develops a decent jump shot, he's going to be Z. Randolph good. I was really happy with Dre's attitude. He really gets up for competition against other centers. His touch is amazing and he's just a overall beast. his defense needs work. Jennings and him had a moment on the sideline. Something we like to see between our guards and bigs

Role Player Notable: Singler, continues to impress, he'll never start but he's a really decent backup SF. Anthony looked really good defensively, he plays with the energy that jj does, only problem is that we play 4 on 5 offensively. JJ finally got decent minutes and continues to be energy we need in our second unit. DJ did a decent job, but i still feel like we lose leads when he is in. I'm really excited to see toliver, i really think his acquisition is underrated. We have such a different looking roster

Knee JERK!: i fully expect our pistons to stink up the place next game. They are coming off a 4 day layoff, were fresh , and were at home. The true test of this team is when they face adversity, and when shots aren't falling. Tell you what though if we lose every game from here on out, but our boys play like this, i'd watch every game. WAs absolute fun to watch.

I just watched the game. That was awesome. While the defense wasn't great, you couldn't ask for a better offensive game. Other than maybe Butler, everyone was on point. It was super fun to watch.

Anyone else notice that the palace was at least half full tonight, not only that but they were loud.Wonder if fans wanted to go to the game because of the smith trade?
