Singler and Butler must be lighting him up on both sides of the ball in practice.

I don't know if this is sarcasm, or not. But this is exactly the point. If he isn't getting playing time over the likes of Singler and Butler, he's not worth even having on an NBA roster. He's an expiring, and worth keeping around as filler at this point, but he won't be in the NBA next season.

He looks like he's beginning to understand SVG's system, i expect to see him in the next 2 weeks get some legit minutes. DJ has been par at best

I definitely liked what I saw! He can have Augustin's minutes as far as I am concerned. If Dindwiddie emerges as a capable back-up maybe we will trade Augustin at the deadline?

Thanks for the video!

I love that he's not scared to throw the oop. Let this guy get some minutes DJ is garbage.

A look at the box score puts it into better perspective. He was 4/13, 1/8 on 3s, 7/7 on FTs, 5 reb, 7 assist, and 5 turn overs. Not really an efficient game. In noting this I'd want to say that I'm not down on SD. However, he's a rookie who's coming back from an ACL. I don't think he's ready to become even the backup PG just yet.

Yeah I was really surprised at that video because when I checked the stats in the middle of the game it looked like he was having the worst game of his entire career.

But looking at the video he did look really comfortable so I'm definitely excited about Dinwiddie. Some of the passes he made you need to be 6'5 to get those passes out. Everybody has a bad shooting night once in a while. When he gets a little bit stronger he's going to be really nice
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

Trade Augustin, have Dinwiddie the back-up to Jennings and sign Lorenzo Brown to be the third stringer.
Weaver = Hinkie

I'm really hopeful that the mayor will be a solid contributor next year and beyond, but the simple truth is that he's not ready to play yet.

in his games in the nba more than half his shots are three pointers, and in the D league that ratio is not much better. considering he's an okay 3 point shooter he shouldn't be relying on them so much. even so though, he's only shooting 41% from inside the arc in the D league.

I haven't watched the games and it's too hard to tell from highlights but the fact that he's shooting so poorly from inside the arc could mean a bunch of things.

I'm anxious to see him play but I'm resigned to the fact that he won't play any meaningful minutes this year, even if DJ continues to suck as much as he has.

SVG is obviously playing the slow hand with Spencer. He did the same thing for JJ Redick. Turned out pretty good for him.

i don't think SVG's worried about SD's offense and efficiency. When he's played in the NBA he's looked like he can get his. One thing SVG has continually repeated is that he needs to improve his defense. I also think understanding SVG's system is not something simple for a rookie. I think next year when he gets stronger, we'll see his numbers get better

There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving him time. Developing a second round pick doesn't happen overnight. He's not a better player than DJ, and thus SVG doesn't need to force him into the rotation ahead of schedule.

He put up less than spectacular numbers in the D-League showcase. That's not even NBA backup quality talent, but yet people think he's ready to unseat Augustin who has at times, looked good enough to be starter-quality. I remember when Brandon Jennings should have been benched for both of these guys.....Pistons fans are one of a kind.

As far as not being worried about offensive efficiency...you guys blow my mind. It's ok for Dinwiddie to jack up shots like nobodies business, but Jennings shouldn't even be in the league when he does the same thing. Dinwiddie can have 5 turnovers, but the excuses come pouring out. Jennings puts up double digit assists, and the first thing someone points out is that he had 3 turnovers. The double standards, and swinging pendulum around here are crazy! You'll support an incompetent rookie, but the moment a competent veteran stumbles you're holding the door for him.

Very few of us even expected Spencer to see the court this year due to his injury. We should all be thankful he is getting reps, and a chance to learn the system while getting back up to full speed.

No need to push him back up into the roster prematurely when we have two veteran PG's (who have made playoff pushes before). Next year is when I expect to begin to see what The Mayor can really do.
