You're what's considered an emotional fan... So emotional about your team that you overlook the flaws... I love my teams but I can take valid criticism of my team if they keep losing... Give me some good bball reasons why you think Jennings can lead this team to a championship in the future? Of course he can't be the only blame for all the losses but I just dont think his style of play and insufficiency fits the winning system they are trying to build... I dont see how a team thats suppose to build around its bigs and play half court bball can be led by Jennings who is not a system guy and thrives when he is the focal point of the offense (he'd be much better suited with a team like the suns who run and gun). I think the knowledable pistons fans agree with me and feel the same way.

And can someone tell Josh Smith he is not a 3 point shooter!

He's emotional, but you're on account #3 just to tell us how much the Pistons suck. Your ass ain't got anything better to do but troll on the internet. I can just imagine the doughey pizza face clown on the other end of these alt accounts

Iam suprised he has the time, running his selena gomez fan club and all lol.

"nobody has argued that jennings/smith suck" - Kurtis I can't spell

Let's go back and see what some of you have said about Jennings couple weeks ago... #2 is the best... Knight is night and day better than Jennings... don't compare an All-Star caliber player to a scrub...#3 should be changed to, he has low bball IQ and lacks fundamentals and wants to quit on games when things go bad...

1. There are actual reasons to be happy with Jennings and think that the improvement that he's made will be somewhat sustainable.

2. Jennings is definitely the better pg, however Knight still has a ton of upside.

3. I'm of the opinion that you need a guy like Jennings on your team. He's a little cocky & arrogant and wants to take over games.

5. have you watched Jennings at all this year? I've followed him closely his whole career and he's playing much differently than he has in his career, and the stats reflect that.

Gotta love the trolling attempts.

The fact is Jennings can either read the writing on the wall or he can't. Removing Smith sends a clear message!

Jennings can no longer feel safe - so he'll either get with the program or Stan will deal with him.

That said, anyone who believes Jennings hasn't made an effort to change hasn't been watching many games! He's had quite a few games where he's taken less than 10 shots per...which must be a career low

I wish Jennings would just disappear like Josh. Unfortunately there is no need around the league for Jennings at all. His contract of course is not as toxic as Smiths but i doubt a team like the Lakers would give up capspace adding Jennings (for Lin or Nashs expiring contract) Other than that almost every team has a better PG or a better prospect already in place. He wouldn't start anywhere else, there are not really a lot of semi bad 2 year contract at 8 mil around the league either.

Calderon 21 mil/3years left for Jennings maybe could be a possible deal, but with Phil Jackson running the Knicks now i even doubt thats really possible.

Time to send Jennings packing. It seems overdue, actually.

And...no to Calderon(unless his contract is expiring). We need someone to attack the paint and make plays.

Edit: We should draft Mudiay this offseason or go after Reggie Jackson when FA begins.

Unlike Smith, I think Jennings is coachable. He bought into Cheeks and now he's seemingly bought into SVG. His shot attempts are down. His turnovers are down. He's 3 point attempts are down. He's clearly making an effort to get into the lane on pick and rolls etc

Unfortunately, he's trying to play the right way, he's just not very good at it. The whole idea was that if you could get him to cut out the bad shots and the crazy passes, he would put up similar stats much more efficiently. It hasn't worked out that way. Reigning it back in has actually ended up with him being less productive and somehow even less efficient. ??? He hasn't figured out how to blend that cocky persona that let him go on scoring binges into the concept of actually running a team. He's also demonstrated why he relied so much on jumpshots..... he can finish in traffic and can't play through contact. He's getting into the lane on pick and rolls, but his finishing and decision making has been just horrible. I mean, he's even trying to throw lobs to Dre and missing. How can you miss Dre?

It hasn't worked because he's just not that kind of a player. Simple as that. Regardless of how much Jennings tries to change his game, whenever the going gets tough (which is quite often with this team), he will revert back to his old tendencies and chuck from all over the court.

In my opinion, the criteria for a back court player or a wingman on this team is obvious. The playmaker/ball handler (be it PG or SG or SF) should be able to make Drummond productive on the offensive side of the ball. The team just becomes so much more open if that keeps happening on a regular basis. It's just sad that the best we could do in that department was Will Bynum.

Midseason update: Jennings is average 15 points/7 assists/3boards/1 steal in 29mpg on 40% FG, 37% 3pt, 84% FT with a PER of 20.
Post Smith stats: 20 points/7 assists/2 boards/1 steal on 44% FG, 40% 3PT, 83% FT.

Brandon has been flourising under SVG especially now that Smith is gone. Last year under Cheeks- it looked like Brandon turned a corner but after Mo got canned, Brandon started reverting to the guy he's been his entire career. This year this is no chance of SVG being let go- can Brandon sustain this type of production for the rest of the season?

It feels like Jennings is older that he is but man- he's only 25 and just entering his prime- it feels like its all clicked for him. Hope he keeps it up

Between post #202 and #209 I'm the only one who defended Jennings!

Good to see everyone jumping on the bandwagon but let's not get ahead of ourselves either:

BJ wasn't as bad as most thought pre-season and he's not as other worldly as some believe now.

He's ALWAYS had certain abilities I believe you just can't teach....and ALWAYS had issues with shot selection.

I'm happy to sit back and enjoy the ride...he's worked extremely hard in the last 6 months and deserves a lot of praise
