He has to be forced into this role because he is just too dumb to change i think but if the Rockets coach will continue to do this he might not be a net negative on the court. Still hope he signs a big fat contract in the summer somewhere, if he totally fails this won't happen.
I am just glad he is off the team, i hated watching Pistons basketball with this dude.

He really is, he has no step anymore anyways except for the occasional wide open dunk. I always said that he was the one that should come off the bench and try to be productive with the 2nd unit.

I'm just more worried at the judgment of some people now that hindsight is out of the way, select few people truly believed he was our best player before he was cut.

Why did I watch that? The pain, the pain. His picks--what an awful player to have on a team.

Just goes to show what a waste of money he really was and how no team would trade for him without us including assets.

SVG believed he could make Smith see sense - he was wrong and dealt with it at the right time (schedule break)

And look what we've done since!

You can say a lot of things about SVG but give the man credit - he knew when to pull the plug

Yes, and big credit to Tom Gores allowing it. Tells me he's a better owner than I originally thought. It's a big off season coming up.

Thanks for sharing. Painful to watch in some ways, but such a relief knowing he is gone for good.

I've also realized that some people clearly missed the few good games that Josh Smith had as a Piston. Beware of absolutes (and trying to look like a smarty pants).
