If we could ever get any type of consistency from him offensively he could really help us.

To be fair he's made strides...something like the 2nd best PPG improvement out of 2nd years, but yea I agree..I have faith in him.

He's taken more shots, his shooting % is still terrible, his ft% is awful.. Again, i'm not being hard on him because i've known what his ceiling was since he was a SR at UGA so all of this was expected. However he plays hard on the other side of the ball & thats a big deal to me so i'm happy he's still on the floor as much as he is, just wish we could get any type of consistency offensively.

And still not properly used at that...they'll run fcking Singler off screens for mid range looks but wont for Pope...boggles my mind at times...then again you and I bitch that we never use Monroe or Drummond enough or effectively lol

Spurs are just a traveling basketball master-class. We on the other hand, are an up and coming team. A victory for us was always going to be a tough ask. The end result did not surprise me at all. Hopefully we can use the break to regroup and refocus on the remainder of the season.

Isn't this the one of the couple games where the Spurs are at full squad? I'm not really mad at this loss either way. Full squad Spurs made the Heat last year look like absolute scrubs. Wouldn't surprise me with they repeat the chip this year.

Damn, we got our tail beat tonight! Looks like my guy KCP came to play tonight. Shoot, he should have went for 50!

I like Moose and I'm always bragging about our bigs in public(even when we had Smith). But his style of play doesn't deserve over 13mil per season. 5yr/65mil is Moose ceiling, but if I'm the GM I'll start negotiations at 5yr/52.5mil.

We got worked that game they beat us a our own game. Dre had a decent first half but then didn't do much in the second and Greg had a horrible game was he sick or something just looked invisible and SVG played Dre almost the whole first half over him. KCP had a decent game these are the games that make you have faith in him to become a important piece to the team.

I just don't think we have enough to make it now I expected a loss here but we also lost to two of the worst teams in the league in the last 10 games and got blew out at that. i think we finish in the 10 or 9 spot.

For whatever it's worth (which, granted, is not much!) — here's my version of Gregg Popovich's pregame speech —

"These f***ers beat us on our home court last time out on a last second shot, by their starting PG, who isn't playing tonight. You're the defending f***ing champs; are you REALLY gonna get swept on the season by this team? No? Then go do your f***ing job tonight and take care of business."

Yes, there was a lot to criticize from our team tonight, but they're the Spurs and this is how Champs respond when you slap them in the face (like we did the last time we played them). As much as I wish we'd put up a better fight, there's no shame in getting slapped back so long as we learn from it.

The Spurs are the better team, let's get that out of the way right off. Their consistent management and plan have produced this "machine." That said, this game was also what is commonly called a "schedule loss." It's tough when your home game opponent is relaxing in your home city the night before the game while you're playing a road game and have to fly home to meet them. One of the downsides of being consistently crappy for years and being banished from TNT's little Thursday monopoly. Oh well, that's the NBA where it seems the good teams get the help.

Please don't misunderstand the next observation, as I don't think it made any real difference as to the outcome of this game. The credibility and cache of the Spurs is a big advantage. I lost count of the moving screens, some accompanied by two handed shoves, that weren't "seen" by the refs. I swear, if Andre is moving the slightest he gets the whistle.
