If I'm NY I take Okafor he looks just as good as Monroe right now and has a higher ceiling.

We may have seen the last of Monroe in a Piston Uni... this "injury" has been suspiciously quite in the media... but there is a couple articles saying that he could be out for the year... what SVG says about it... ""Well, I don't know about that," Van Gundy said when asked about a shutdown. "It all depends on how he is. I've never really shut anyone down. If he's ready to play, he's healthy and he gets clearance … if he's healthy, mentally, to play, we'd play him." SVG added the team is "nowhere near" the point of playing him yet"
With only 9 games left you would think he'd like to show the league that he'll be ready for next year.

All signs point to Monroe's departure.

1) Not playing
2) Mysterious injury status
3) Not talking about it in the media
4) Team is playing better without him in the paint
5) Jackson talks about chemistry with KCP and Dre only

We'll be OK. We didn't handle this the right way, but Monroe took the route available to him to control his own destiny, and you have to respect that. I don't know how big a thing winning is to Greg, but we'll find out soon enough. He showed enough to get his max deal (15 mil) in an era of escalating cap, and he'll probably have the opportunity to get paid and play for a different rebuilding team OR take less and play for a playoff team.

I heard a rumor I personally made up that both are going to the Knicks.

He already played the entire season, the last 9 games wont make a difference.

He could easily explain to prospective teams he held himself out of the games after he realized he wasnt part of the future and didnt want to risk injury before free agency

This is kind of like Kevin Love not playing in the Olympics before free agency, same thing just a few months earlier for Monroe

It is much harder to steal players than sign your own. I seriously doubt that Tobias will be in Detroit. I almost guarantee it. I bet there is less than 5% chance of this happening. Just people around here imaginations running wild. Tobias most likely only going to one of two places. Orlando or New York. Book it.
