Re: Rate these Piston assets in order
SVG is the most important asset we have IF the replacement had to be going back to Dumars and his parade of incompetent coaches. Assuming we could hire a league-average coach and GM, then it's definitely Dre. SVG is definitely a well-above-average coach, but the jury's still out on him as a GM, and he's definitely more replaceable than Drummond.

While I understand the argument for VanGundy as the number 1 asset but this still a players league, Drummond is a 20/20 threat without VanGundy as his coach. I agree whole-heartedly with Cowology's assessment, and his reasoning for listing kcp ahead of our unknown draft pick.

Re: Rate these Piston assets in order
Drummond is being overrated unless he can increase his FT %. I like him a lot, both as a personality and for his remarkable combination of athleticism and size. However, he has to shoot FTs better than 40% to ever become a true "franchise player." I'm not totally discouraged by him, as he has shown progress in a lot of areas, but he'll always be limited if he can't improve his FT%. The GMs don't seem to want to change the "Hack-a-*" rules, and were the Pistons to make the playoffs you'd expect to see the same thing with Dre as you do with Deandre Jordan. If he can fix this flaw, then he vaults right to the top.
Jackson impressed me during his time with the Pistons. It got off to a rough start but he seemed to be figuring it out. To dredge up a term from a bygone era, I just like his moxie. Very competitive, tough, and hates to lose. Small sample size, but he appears a better shooter and passer than advertised. Decision making was iffy early, but SVG seemed to be getting through to him. It'll be interesting to see how he does with a training camp and more time in the system.
Right now I'd rank them:
SVG & his cap space (because of how badly this team needs competent management)
Jackson
Drummond
KCP (because if he doesn't become a more consistent shooter/scorer, in the end he's just a bench bench player)
Pick (because who knows with a pick?)

Re: Rate these Piston assets in order
I have a question for you guys. Does how you value the draft pick change if we jump into the top 3? For me it doesn't, I think the risk is pretty much the same whether we pick 1 or 8, but that's just my opinion.

I'd put #8 after SVG, Drummond, RJ & KCP but ahead of Monroe
I'd put top 3 pick after SVG, Drummond, RJ but ahead of KCP (& Monroe)
Reason being I think KCP could bring back a little more than #8...but he couldn't bring back a top 3 pick on his own
