Ilyasova is in. Monroe is out?

Post#1 » by Spider156 » Thu Jun 11, 2015 7:55 pm

Does this trade mean that Monroe will be leaving this offseason? I think it raises the chances but at the same time Monroe can still start on the team. I think it definitely means we're going to draft a SF.

Thoughts...

Nothing changes, the ball is still in Monroe's court and he is likely to walk. Ersan has never played starters minutes so penciling him at starter is a huge stretch imo. Milwaukee is even more shooting starved then we are so them letting him go for nothing is telling about his basketball abilities.

What I do like is this pushes Tolliver further down the depth chart.

I think this can be just as easily discussed in the currently existing Illyasova thread.

We got taken pretty good the last time we made a deal with the Bucks, we'll see how this one goes.

Means we have less cap space to work with. I'm still convinced Monroe is gone, but this doesn't make me more convinced. He looks great in the 6th man roll. Heck, he could even start at small forward ala Hedo Turkoglu.

Monroe was out of Detroit the second he signed the QO last summer. He was never going to stay. The Pistons don't want to pay him max to play out of position and he doesn't what that either.
Its a shame the Pistons didn't get anything for a quality player like Monroe, other than capspace.
