Jennings to Sac?

Post#1 » by Southern Piston » Sat Jun 13, 2015 7:16 am

I wanted to know what you guys thought of trading Jennings for J Thompson and Ray Mccallum. I think Scaramento really wants big names, this might suit them. The combination of Mccallum, Dimmwiddie, and R Jackson is young, and deep. I think Thompson could play the 5 spot for 10 minutes a game. Now we can spend the rest on a SF as well as drafting one. The roster would be pretty set. I'm hoping we draft either Winslow or S Johnson; and Darkius Johnson in the 2nd rd. Maybe the Spurs take Monroe and we can get Kyle Anderson in return. Aminu might be the perfect Jody Meeks to whoever SF we draft. Any thoughts ?

Jennings to the Kings would be hilarious!

But it's possible I guess.

Jennings probably isn't getting traded before he shows he's healthy... meaning at least pre-season. If he looks good AND has a good attitude about sharing, we keep him, because he's a solid player and expiring, and I doubt Dinwiddie is ready to be the primary backup. If he looks good and causes trouble, we trade him. If he isn't healthy, he'll sit on the end of the 15 man roster until he is.

doubt he's traded before the deadline, if at all, but id accept that offer if it was on the table

I'm a little bit worried about not only how he'll bounce back from a pretty serious injury, but also how he'll adjust to (most likely) coming off the bench.

I don't expect to see him traded until he's played at full health for at least a month.

No reason to deal him now. If he's playing great a couple months into the season he should probably be shopped.

I guess this is where I'm obligated to re-post the Jennings-to-SAC deal I've proposed all over the place before, right?

Jennings & #8 for Landry & #6

We eat Landry's contract to move ahead of DEN and secure Justise Winslow; they dump Landry's deal and still land WCS two spots later. Everyone wins (but Denver, but screw them!).

I would do this in a heartbeat. We basically guarantee one of Hezonja or Winslow and we get a great backup big

There's a chance the Nuggets could take WCS.

I don't think the Kings would do this even if they were dead set on WCS, which its probably wishful thinking that they are.

But yeah, on the off chance the Kings were foolish enough, you bet I'd be interested in a move like this.

Reports have them offering #6+Stauk for #4 and they draft Mudiay. I wonder if NY be interested in Jennings+8 for Calderon+6

Detroit in : Thompson +#6
NY in : Stauk+Jennings+#8
Sac in : #4+Calderon

I somewhat expect this to concern RJ, and choices he has to make soon. Is a healthy BJ ok, from rj's perspective? If BJ gets hot, he'll stay in. And thats the right thing to do, and would have to imagine RJ would agree it's the right thing.

If going by what rj's said over the past year, or so, you'd think sharing is not what RJ wants. He wants the heavy load, and a just back up for his rest periods. Will BJ's status be any element at all, in RJ's discussions/negotiations?

If Jennnings plays well, he will be a great asset at the deadline, if he plays poor, he will be a decent asset at the deadline. Either way the prudent thing to do would be to hang on and see if he improves enough to get us a great piece back.

As for trading with Sacramento, there is too much of a chance Denver could pick WCS. My instinct is they take him at #6 to pair well with Cousins and to rebound Gay's misses.

This... we also need injury insurance for RJ

I think RJ is smart enough to know that IF BJ comes back to full health at any point next season AND is playing well SVG would have no hesitation playing them together.

RJ surely knows BJ is not in our lonf term plans since we have Dinwiddie waiting in the wings as a back up G.

Throw in the fact a 3rd stringer can be had for cheap and I believe all parties can read the writing on the wall.

It's in BJ's best interests to get himself right and show enough to earn another good contract. He's not gonna do that causing drama

better to hold him until the dealine and see if we can trade him off to a contender in need of guard depth thats willing to spend a late first or something. He'd be a big addition to the clippers and since he's actually pretty talented with court vision maybe paul could mold him a little. Unfortunately they have no picks this year, maybe doc could give a second this year and another future first since he's beeen giving them out for no reason iirc
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

At a minimum, if Jennings is good, we will be able to get a mid-late first rounder for him from a contender.
