Key words being "trade out" not trade up or down.

It was more in response of a trade around him and #8 which is ludicrous...

SVG clearly states we'd have to get something to fill a need to move in the draft for our pick...THJ does nothing for us sooo yea.

Hopefully the knicks can do something to please their fans on draft night.
They're an interesting bunch, I'll say that much.

Jennings, Meeks & 8

for

Calderon, THJ & 4

They clear Calderon a year early & bring in a shooter that can start if needed on a longer, cheapish contract. The cost of that is dropping 4 spots where they'll be able to pick a C/F they desperately need

We take on lesser assets to move up 4 spots to secure a player we want (Winslow or Dingus)

Makes sense...time will tell

Phil knows the Knicks rarely have a pick so fans are salivating

I proposed a trade on our board where everybody receives the following

Knicks : 7th, 8th, 57 & Jennings

Nuggets : 4th & Calderon

Pistons : Tim Jr. & Wilson Chandler

Now I don't know what the Detroit needs are so if your looking for a big maybe the team will have to be the kings and you get Jason Thompson. Or maybe Kenneth Faried instead of Chandler ?

Can't help but think this could be apart of a very successful comedy routine.

"I said to Jeff today, 'Who makes that up?'" Van Gundy said. "I've always wondered about things that we have never even had one discussion on. Like, does the writer make it up or does somebody else make it up and feed it to the writer? Like, who does the fiction writing and why? I've never quite understood that.

"Some things at least might be overblown just a little bit. There might have been a discussion somewhere in passing. Literally, if there's been discussion of that it has not been with Jeff or I."

does anyone know how a trade scenario would work with pistons and knicks? we would go for #4 pick and offer brandon, greg monroe, and #8 and they send back what?

but i think svg is targeting winslow hardcore now

jennings put up a pic on twitter account saying heading to new york to see his doctor

just like he took a pic in a pistons shirt before he came to us

so jennings to new york is like pretty much 100% if you go by history of players doing this stuff

Everyone should be in favor of trading Jennings now rather than later.

Look at Shumpert and JR Smith. Deals were available for both, including a 1st round pick for Shumpert and once the season started no one was willing to offer anything.

Even if Jennings plays well he wont net us more than a late 1st round pick from a contender at best. No one is giving us value for a player coming back from a bad injury on an expiring deal.

If we can move Jennings for Hardaway + Calderon I do it. Then we can package Meeks, Martin for a quality back up SF/C

Sign and trade Monroe and 8th, 38th and Jennings for Andrea Bargnani, #4 and THJ.

^^I'm fairly certain you can't do a sign and trade involving draft picks.

I always thought Hardaway was streaky at Michigan and never really paid much attention to him with the Knicks. I doubt he's an upgrade over KCP or Meeks. If somehow we can swap #8 for #4, that'd be fun :).

Are you a Pistons fan? How does that make the Pistons better? We give up the best player in the deal (which can't technically happen with FA), arguably the second best player in the deal (I'm not a fan of Bargs, at all), to move up 4 spots in the draft. :noway:

Yeah, whenever rumors of possible interest come up for a player, fans of the team that player plays for will always engage in absurdly wishful thinking about what they can get for said player.

That's all that's happening with Knick fans. We'd be doing the same thing if rumors came out about a team being interested in KCP.

Remember the Rudy Gay rumors when Raptor fans were arguing about whether Drummond would be an acceptable offer for him and a lot of people were saying we'd have to give up more? That's all this is, just on a smaller scale.
