Slow down... Drummond has a lot of potential, but lets not forget just how friggin awesome Greg Monroe is two years in. This is his team. Drummond in my opinion is going to be Monroe's DeAndre Jordan.

Very similar skill-sets and similar questions about them coming out. And which begs this old question, why the hell did we pass on Jordan twice?!?!

Either way, Monroe already is awesome, Drummond has a chance to be pretty darn good too, but lets be patient and not get ahead of ourselves. I'm more excited next year to see Greg's improvement and the Knight/Stuckey back court, and a little bit to see if Kyle Singler is an actual NBA player.

This thread is about ceiling.

Which is a pretty dumb concept to be discussing when nobody has seen him play against NBA competition don't ya think?

No, I don't think its a dumb concept at all. If players ceilings weren't taken into consideration, 26 seniors would be drafted in the first round.

Yes A.D's ceiling is slightly higher... good thing he can still paint it without a ladder.

Not when your 7.5% body fat.

It doesn't matter... the extra weight can stress the joints unless you have a proportionate base to support the weight.

Im sure Arnie Kander will take good care of Drummond, so theres really no cause for concern.

Drummond has tree trunk legs which is an amazing asset to combat joint related injuries.

True, it does make you feel better about the attention he'll receive... just saying 285lbs at 18 years means that he'll be fighting weight issue from here on out.

imo, Anthony Davis has more bust potential then Drummond, but you never hear ppl talk about him being a bust. If he doesn't get his weight/strength up in a hurry though, he's going look like a bust as a rookie at least. Once NBA bigs start punishing him down low on a regular basis and he can't do anything to stop them from over powering him, ppl are going to start calling him a bust. If he never gets his strength up, he may stay a bust.

Drummond on the other hand will always have a role on some team just because of his size/strength in the post. It would've been interesting to see how the draft played out had UK played UCONN, and Davis got dominated in the post by Drummond, which is what I predict would happen if they matched up right now. Would Davis still be #1 or would it have been Drummond? Good thing for us no one got to see that.

Davis is the better defender right now but not by the margin some say & Drummond & Davis are basically the same offensively.

lol davis does not have a higher bust potential than drummond. otherwise, davis wouldn't have been such a strong candidate to be on the ACTUAL olympic team. blame the injury for that not happening

That little bump and fade shot was a pleasant surprise since he hit both of them... would like to see a developing hook shot... some folks that have seen him more say his hook is flat... he's sure to learn some moves from #10.

a rookie prospects bust potential is determined by an invite for the Olympic team before playing a single NBA min?

I'd say Drummond but it's really a wash cause i doubt Andre developing much of an offensive repertoire that doesn't consist in dunks and tap ins.

Was this ever a real questions? Drummond by a VERY LARGE margin. Season Avis of 20pts/17rebs/3blks/2stls can be achieved by Drummond IMO.

*Didnt realize original post was from 2012. With that in mind..... I would have had the same response even back then. No Lie.

Please don't come onto our board and bump 3 year old threads.

Thank you.
