I would much rather have a young developmental guy with potential upside like Dinwiddie, over an aging fringe NBA player like JL3. If Dinwiddie doesn't pan out, you aren't out anything. Its not like Detroit is a good enough team to be augmenting the end of the roster with old vets. The end of the roster should have developmental guys like Dinwiddie and Quincy Miller.
You are right we do have a problem because as of now our third PG is our primary backup, who is going to start the year playing the half of the second and fourth qtrs until Jennings can play, which may not be til midseason.
And he wont just be some guy you can put in the corner and tell not to do anything wrong. He is going to have the ball the majority of the time orchestrating everything. Seeing him turn it over everywhere in SL, we cant have that for half the fourth qtr and expect to win for a team that doesnt have much margin for error. Lucas isnt ideal either but i think we do need to upgrade that spot however we can, and we have too many players on the roster to have both Dinwiddie and another vet PG so a decision may need to be made.
So you are basing this all on his SL play? Dinwiddie is not a high turnover player to be honest Reggie Jackson turns it over more, the knock on Spencer is his shooting but from his college stats he shouldn't be as bad as he was.
