That's a horrible bet

Haha, I was just playing man. But seriously, trading that injury prone guy Illyasova for Markieff Morris would make our front-court respectable.

This trade should be a no-brainer for SVG if he's really talking about winning.

Until Markeiff is un happy about playing time, his brother got his back now the lockerooms split all the while illy's having a comeback year on the suns....................eye of the beholder my friends. I really put a ton of value in the fact SVG has been targeting illy for some time.

Or, Markieff ends up have a great season next to Drummond and his brother happily accepts a bench role behind Stanley. Meanwhile, Illyasova ends up playing 23 games with Suns. Lets think positive.

I don't know man, you might be trying to read too much into SVG's agenda. Illyasova could have been given away for cap relief, we basically got him for nothing. I wouldn't really call that targeting bro.

He literally said, he's been targeting illy since he got here. and how he's watched hours of Milwakee's film and feels illy is a perfect fit. I mean other than those statments, i guess????????????????????

Honestly it could either way, Markieff could have a break out and Illy not , vice versa, or both. And i think that's my point, everything about both players is more ??? than answers, with perceived upside. Only way to determine who's right is to wait. Admittedly Markieff outlook wise seems like the safer bet.

IN SVG i trust

Svg said himself he had his eyes on illy for awhile. If he stays healthy he could shoot 38% plus from three that would be huge. I think he brings a little feisty/scrappiness to him too.

Wouldn't mind markieff, but for granger and Cartier. No meek, illy, or Jennings tho

He provides a lot better D and length on the perimeter and hes a good rebounder. I do believe there was also a article about how his value is in knowing how to get open, being in the right spots, and being hard nosed

Sheed was great. Markieff is merely good. In spurts he is very good, but too often he is average. Yes, he's posted decent seasons over the last two years, but glance at his four-year career, and you're left with a limited, inefficient player. In fact, you could argue that he isn't an improvement over Detroit's existing stretch power forward, Ersan Ilyasova.

Ilyasova is a much better three-point shooter than Morris, a better rebounder, is more efficient, and turns the ball over much less. Ilyasova also doesn't have the significant amount of baggage that Morris would bring.

Thinking again about Detroit's addition of Wallace, another important thing to remember is that it's not just comparing Sheed to Morris. It's comparing those veteran-laden Detroit teams to the young, impressionable squad that's just now trying to find an identity and build itself up.

Just as Morris is no Rasheed, Andre Drummond is no Ben Wallace, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is no Richard Hamilton and Reggie Jackson is no Chauncey Billups. At least, not yet.

The biggest problem with bring Markieff here is the locker room. When you have 2 brothers on a 15 man team it upsets the balance. My best friend and I played a ton a ball together and we had 3 younger brothers between us so yes we took them with us and played a ton together. As it turned out the offense many times ran through one set of brothers or the other and when we lost it sometimes could get ugly.

The whole idea of the Morris twins is just something we don't need to get better. If he is as good as Sheed when he plays with his brother then yes we should pursue him but I don't believe they are so much better together that we need to complete the set.

good point, Marcus already fills the role that Markieff would.
