He's smart enough to recognize he's his own product and is playing for his next big contract. But that is cerebral and when he steps on the court he's playing on instinct and emotion. The two may not entirely jive. We'll see. It's everybodys best interest for him to follow through, but he's a bone head and a bit of a narcissist.

A) He's damaged goods and will be gone next year so let's cut ties and turn over the reins without any controversy.
B) Let's see if he can get his legs back and wait to see if he can be a valuable asset off the bench.
With RJ's salary it's a safe bet that Jennings is on his way out... Blake being the cushion to absorb the loss.
Does SVG wait it out hoping that he can get a better return at the deadline?... does he let the contract ride out for applying the $'s to Dre?... where does Dinwiddie fit in this decision?
Jennings probably won't be ready to go until December and may not get all his explosive speed back for extended periods. With this being a contract year, he has extra incentive to come in as a good soldier and play his role at a high level.
1. Potential 6th man of the year candidate.
2. If he comes in playing at a high level and the team is winning at a remarkable clip, I see us rolling the dice and keeping BJ for a post season run.
3. If BJ healthy, but his play doesn't set him apart from Dinwiddie and Blake, I see SVG moving him by the trade deadline.

Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings is not expected back from his Achilles injury until mid- to late-December — at least a month and a half after Detroit's season starts Oct. 27.

hopefully he hits his stride sometime around the all star break.

That's not even the big story in the article. We all are guessing at what Stanimals minutes are going to be, but this sentence makes me think it's going to be more then any of us believe;whitehops wrote:Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings is not expected back from his Achilles injury until mid- to late-December — at least a month and a half after Detroit's season starts Oct. 27.

We'll have three guys 22 or younger (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Andre Drummond and Johnson) that will be playing big minutes.
If Stanley is playing the same minutes as Andre and Pope, he really could land ROY.
That's 30+mpg.

he can get minutes but he likely won't get enough touches to be a serious ROY candidate, it always goes to high-usage rookies, no matter how good they actually were with those touches.
