That's awesome

It really is. It was a memorable night. In the end I had to spaz out and ask for a picture lol

I just watched the game.
definitely looked like a game from last years Reggie.
the offense looked much more fluid. Ilyasova shot the ball quickly and it paid off. Reggie made quick decisions and it paid off. We moved the ball quickly and it paid off. It's pretty simple stuff :)
great game.

I also just rewatched the ending of the Lions V Packers game just for good measure. haha That was hilarious.
In hindsight it was nice that Prater missed those extra points because it gave the packers some hope... then that hope was destroyed :D haha suck it packers!!

lol, we literally did everything we could to give it to them. We only had 10 men on the field for 3 seperate special teams plays. CJ our superstar misses easy onside kick, lots and lots of dumb penalties. etc. Nice to see it going the other way.

I can't believe how bad we suck this year. 11-5 to at best 4-12 but more likely 2-14... I can't believe it.
I booked a trip out to New Orleans to see us play the saints... It 's going to be a s*** show haha
At least i'm going to an LSU basketball game that same weekend.

Saints are pretty bad this year. worst defense in the league, they just fired their defensive coordinator tho. Maybe there's a chance...

To be fair

Lombardi killed us. His blocking scheme's and lack of abilty to adjust during the game killed us and stafford and our defense. Every game Lombardi was out coached and our defense could really only do so much having to be on the field for so long. You add: Losing Fairley, SUH, Walker, and LEVY. Its not hard to see how we failed. The idea is that our offense would make up for our losses on defense and if we only played one half , we'd be a lot closer to that. I really like what Cooter has done. When stafford is kept clean, he delievers, for the most part.

Stafford is like the Stuckey of the Lions man. I don't get the obsession.

It's difficult to find good QB's let alone great. If you're a Lions fan you should know that. Stafford is the best QB i've seen in Detroit in my lifetime (24). Who else can you get? You want Harrington, Kramer, Orvlosky, Mitchell, Detmer, Kitna, Mcmahon, Stanton, Culpepper, Batch, Garcia, and Frerotte. Stafford is a ok QB.

I mean I get why he's still on the team, I just don't see why people try to act like he's anything special.

I had hopes he'd be special he has all the tools. He did throw for 5k yards and like 42 TD's and 13 INT's one year. I still have hope he will get it going sometime, but idk. The Lions always seem to let you down. Lomardi was a terrible OC tho, it was real bad this year, the o line was sucking too

i'll be the first to admit about reservations regarding stafford. He's more potential than production and seems to consitently be teh same qb year in and out. Having said that, if you don't get the obsession , i don't understand you. You look around the NFL, there's not many qb's that can make the throws he can make. And when we have given him time, statistically he's been a great qb. The problem is that for the majority of his career , we don't give him enough time in the pocket.

There are 100's of excuses /factors that have contributed to his lack of development but the most improtant part is our FO. Questionable draft picks and coach selections have hampered Staffords development. Even if you want to put all the blame on Stafford, when you look at the "plan b". Either through the draft or FA, there's nothing that comes close to Stafford floor or ceiling. Maybe if ithere was a andrew luck in this draft. There's not.

I think it says a lot about the state of QBs now when people think Stafford is a great QB.
He's not great, but there's really no options around.

There's easily 10-12 QBs I'd take over Stafford... but its not like those guys are on the trade block right now so we're stuck with wildly inconsistent and usually mediocre Stafford.

That said, I can't help but feel like we're wasting some of Calvin Johnson's prime years, just like we did with Barry, by not putting the right group of people around him to help him thrive.

The Lions were a top 5 Offense for 2-3 years with Linehan rite. Then we get Lomarbi and go to like 24th or something. After getting Tate, Ebron, and Abdullah. Lombardi was a horrible OC. How does that happen?

Return to Detroit Pistons
