They've got to bring effort from beginning to end. When that happens, we will be competitors, until then we are more of a pretender/darkhorse team capable of beating and losing to anyone on any given night.

Only 2 games against some poor defenses, but shows the potential we have on that end when everyone does their job and plays together.

Reggie was right. It may have been as simple as guys just shooting their shots when its there. If the shot doesn't go, no problem, just go play defense and try to make it the next time down. But by consistently taking the shots when you are supposed to, the offense can now flow and isn't getting bogged down anymore. Which is more important in the grand scheme than passing a clean look to try and dribble into a better look for 2 pts on one possession, and then have everyone else off rhythm and confused the next 5 possessions afterwards. It's amazing how the ball seems to bounce your way more too when you play the right way.

Aren't Houston and PHX one of the worst defensive teams?

I believe they are, and its at the very least encouraging we did what we were suppose to do.

Yes they are, but they're also 2 of the best offenses, and for us to outscore them with offense is impressive in itself, as we didn't really play much defense either. Meaning our offense can score with the best of them

Is it a coincidence that 1-dimensional Anthony Tolliver(31% FG) only played 12 and 15 minutes both games, versus his usual 20+?
I don't know but there could be a correlation there, we shall see as time progresses.

YES and I love it. SVG went in on those dudes to make clear that the issue is consistent effort. He has a great habit of grounding his guys so they keep an eye towards excellence. I just remember too clearly the Kuester and Lawrence days when teams would get a lead and the guys would just roll over and play dead until the end of the game. These with their relative newness to each other and considerable youth, just keep fighting.

Now they need to stick with the plan and bring consistent intelligent effort.

Good point. KCP has been less involved too. Makes sense. Limit your two most inefficient scorers and maximize your most efficient and the team as a whole becomes more efficient
