Speaking of shot creation, for the first time in awhile KCP looked under control creating his shots and making plays for others last night against Boston. We might be in the midst of seeing the breakthrough we expected for him. I for one was really impressed by the way he was handling Avery Bradley (an ace defender) with considerable ease.

The play of the game was his crossover step back three against Amir Johnson that had him in the "spin cycle". :D

Yeah for sure. A handful of people seem to have wrote KCP off but I personally don't think he's done progressing as a player by any means, and he's been really good lately. People who can't shoot can't put together the shooting performances he's capable of...it's just a matter of consistency, and if he has to take more shots off the bounce to do so that's ok.

that's what i was wondering but people have been saying it

He's coming back Dec 29th or possibly Tuesday if he plays well in the DLeague right now.

We're talking about Meeks, not Jennings.

I think Meeks returns in January. When the news about Jennings should play in the DLeague for one game came out, Meeks was also mentioned in it. Meeks's injury is different than Jennings. His is a bone fracture that could be soft or hard right now. It's not a functional injury, it's structural. So his injury is a wait and see and there's a chance he doesn't play for a while. Jennings injury is muscular. When it heals up, you can play. Just don't stress it out too much. Here's the thing. I think Jennings is putting too much stress on himself and might re-injure his leg. It's happened in the past. He needs to come back slowly into the game. I hope SVG limits his minutes.

I worry about this too, but I hope/trust SVG will be careful. One thing to consider is that with modern medicine these days, it does seem like players are able to come back quicker from ACLs, and are able to return to their old selves when they do get back. Adrian Peterson made it back in what seems like record time and was his old self. Jake Ryan for Michigan also comes to mind, though I can't think of any basketball players to quickly recover off the top of my head.

ACL is the knee. He tore his achilles tendon. Only player I can think of is Jerebko. He just made 3 straight threes on us yesterday. I noticed he slowed down after the injury but he's been playing hard ever since. So I expect Jennings to slow down too and that's too bad since his speed is part of what made him so good. But I think if Rose can get back to his speed the way he has, Jennings can too. Rose just lost his explosion. But the speed is there.

I still find that amazing that anyone would write off a player like KCP who plays as hard as he does and the level of defense he plays. If he does end up averaging 15-18ppg he may end up being our most valuable player.

Very very few players in the league have his speed and tenacity. You never give up on players like that. It will haunt you forever.

Kobe tore his Achilles too. He actually was playing decent before the shoulder injury too.

IMO KCP is the key cog in our machine.

RJ & Dre usually do what they do and normally we have either Morris or Illy contribute well on any given night...

What we need from KCP is consistency offensively. IF we get that I believe this team will take the next step but I'm of the opinion it happens next season when Stanimal is part of the starting unit and KCP doesn't blow all his energy on D.

Dre
Morris/Illy
SJ
KCP
RJ

That would allow us to "rest" KCP on D some of the time as opposed to putting all the burden on him.
