Detroit Pistons 2015-16 Observations (Video)

Post#1 » by drk3351 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 9:44 pm

Hey Pistons fans, I made a breakdown video analyzing some things that have caught my eye watching them this year. I thought I'd share it here and thanks for watching and let me know what you think of the points I made.

Yo, this is actually good stuff.

Also it highlights how important Meeks was to the bench before he went down. He really is good at drawing his man out since he's basically our poor man's version of JJ Redick.

It also validates some of our frustrations about how banal our offense is sometimes using too much of the high PnR action. Which was highlighted at 4:41 on the video. Thanks.

Also Dre's defense...eh.

our offense:

1- jackson use drummond to get to the rim, he barely dish or kick the ball. but he is great finisher.
2- drummond's post ups. very good.
3- screens for 3 points. we have 3 3 pointers in the starting line up but only one of them can shoot above 32%.
3- morris's pull ups. one driblle and shoot.
4- offensive rebounds. yes, this in an option.
5- kcp's midrange pull ups game. this is only above average offensive asset kcp has.

we need another ball handler and it is stanley johnson. i don't like starting five then second unit thing. we should integrate them.

defense:

I still don't understand why we are not the worst defensive team. we have one of the worst defenders (jackson and drummond) in their position but somehow we are above average.

Thats why defense stats are trash Dre doesn't play nearly as good on defense as his stats say. KCP, Morris, and Tolliver are our best defenders.
