SVG sums things up well. We don't have another viable wing player to put in during the minutes Morris would be vacating at the 3.
Until that changes (Meeks?) its not really an option we can explore. If Meeks comes back Johnson can swap the minutes he's getting at the 2 for more minutes at the 3 and this can all work out. Until then, sorry Morris.

Re: Marcus Morris Wants More Time At PF
More does not mean all. No reason this can't start small. 10 more mpg at PF. 10 more mpg for Stanley/Jennings. This would certainly not throw off the gravitational forces of the Pistons universe and pull us into the void.
As Meeks/Jennings get healthy and return to form, as Stanley improves, as we make other incremental improvements to our wing rotation than you can afford to go to it more often. Or pull the damn trigger on a trade and turn one of those excess "bigs" into a comparable player at a greater position of need. That is his job as GM, isn't it??

Why can't Stanley just play more minutes at 2 and 3?
He can't shoot? ... yet, anyway

He's shooting better from 3 than the current guys playing there.

I like Tolliver in his role but I don't care about Ersans 3pt% watching him play and make bonehead decisions is enough for me to not think he is a good player especially for a starter. Ersan is a one trick pony thats not even great at his one trick.

That's the reason Stan is reluctant to reduce their minutes, imo, more so than not having another SG (because SJ/BJ could play there). It's because AT/EI are our best 3 pt shooters and we need shooters around RJ/Dre, which is understandable. .
Same reason Marcus probably can't be a longterm solution at PF, because can't have a trio of 30% shooters around RJ/Dre.
The reason its our best offensive lineup now is because they push the pace in transition w/ SJ and get easy pts. In the playoffs though you need halfcourt shooters. It can succeed now in the reg season though and we should use it more.
If not Morris at PF then maybe Morris off the bench because SJ is ready to start or at least get more minutes somehow.

I agree. His 3 pt% is totally negated by the constant pump fakes and drives to the basket. I think it's starting to trickle into frustration for the starters (at least RJ) because you can see the team not so happy when he passes up his shots.

You're probably correct. Stan's system is contingent upon 3-pt shooting, IMHO. Live by the 3, die by the 3.
