Re: Dre in Dunk Contest!
Going in without any expectations. He's got hops, but to me he's more of a power dunker. Being 6'11 with a 7'6 wingspan though, he doesn't need to jump that high.
The through the legs and FT line attempt are impressive for anyone his size, but its so difficult to do well in the dunk contest against guys like LaVine that literally look like they're flying. Most dunks have already been done repeatedly so he'll have to be creative to really wow the crow.

Re: Dre in Dunk Contest!
It would be more impressive to tap the ball on TOP of the backboard and then come own for the slam.

C'mon, do you really think Dre agreed to compete because he wants to show the world what a great dunker he is?
He's there to have fun, be a star, and enjoy himself. And there's nothing wrong with that, really, but if Stanley Johnson was shooting 35% from the free throw line, he'd spend All-Star weekend training like a monster so he'd stop embarrassing himself.
Again, Dre is my favorite player, but he's not where he needs to be mentally.
As an additional note, for the 2K16 fans out there, Dre is the featured interview on 2K TV next week. I imagine he'll be his endearing, goofy self.

Soooooo do you think Stanley is going to spend his All Star break working on his midrange jumper, because it's pretty bad. Seriously, every all star is going to be at the dunk contest, is Dre supposed to be in a gym somewhere practicing free throws? I'm really trying to figure out how it matters why he accepted the invite. He would either be there dunking or there watching it. Does it honestly matter?

he's heavier now but if he has the same bounce he can do some nice dunks.
No way he can do that stuff now. Maybe the power tomahawk, but nothing through his legs.
I'll take that bet.

I think Stanley will be working on his game, yes.
I think you need to relax a little, though.

You're questioning Dre's mental based on being in a dunk contest, but I'm the one that needs to relax. Cool story.

He's putting up some great numbers in the Dleague this year. Maybe he will get a call-up.

Nope. Not even a nice try.
I'm questioning Dre's mental state based on watching him play, watching his extracurricular activities, and watching his development. I'm using his appearance in the dunk contest as a data point.
This is pretty obvious to me, but if it isn't to you, that's my fault. Perhaps I should have been clearer. In any case, you really should relax a little.
