Re: Bullock!
I've always been jealous when teams pick up a player a few years into their uninspiring career and they finally start to deliver. I'm thinking we just got that with this kid.

I hope he can become that Kris Middleton that got away, but in the meantime, if he takes Meeks minutes, I'm good with that. Meeks seems done. He can't shoot, he's not good defensively most nights and even though he does drive more to the hoop than he has in the past, he's not showing any sort of consistency since about a 10-15 game stretch when he first came on the scene last season. He's just not that good. Let's hope we snagged a gem with this guy.
His whole career has been a small sample size. I don't believe he's ever really got a chance, and this is what his third year. Carrying four PG's on the main roster means there will be minutes for him at the 2/3, especially with only carrying two PF's with the idea Mook Morris slides over there for minutes. Meeks missed a large chunk of last season, and Ilysova usually misses his 15 games a season, so there will almost surely be a 10-15 game stretch where Bullock gets meaningful minutes to show what he can offer in the league.

After having no answer for George in the Pacer games, we should try Bullock on him next time. He seems to do a good job on him here.

Bullock has looked very promising. He had his enthusiasts during his draft. I love his comment about how the guys who are willing to defend well and hard all the time have a place in the league. It's also encouraging that his shot is working. Yeah, wouldn't it be sweet if he turns out to be a great fit?

Re: Bullock!
I agree with MotownMadness. This is the kid we find off the scrap heap that becomes our gem. I normally chide Piston fans for fawning over that end of the bench guy (holy hell have we had alot of those the past 6 years) who "is the diamond in the rough" "if only he got playtime" e.t.c.
Bullock has shown not only shooting prowess, but a real knack at making himself available under the basket with cuts, and playing some outstanding defense.
I am absolutely confused how he didn't get playtime on that crap Phoenix roster. That team is run by **** fools. What did we give up for two rotation players in Morris and Bullock again?
**** fools in Phoenix.

Re: Bullock!
That is totally expected AND a huge signal that the staff thinks Bullock is for real. You don't tie up cap space coming into a huge next summer for us, if you don't believe Reggie is going to be a legit asset for us.
We now have one of those GREAT problems that teams only get to have once every bunch of years: too many rotation players at some positions. Bullock sure is looking like the 5th player deserving serious rotation PT at SF and SG. We've got him and Morris on teensy contracts locked up for 2 and 4 seasons, respectively -- really wonderful assets that the Pistons could potentially turn into very nice draft picks or packaged for a quality veteran player anytime in next couple seasons.
I also see possibilities that Meeks or KCP could be the guys on the block even should they play well this year, which I expect they will.
Thank you Suns!! Really, it's hard to thank you enough. Enjoy your stupid future second round pick.

Todd3. As you are planning to bench and get rid of KCP as Pistons have done with Okur, Amir, Affalo and Monroe. I love Bulloch but what does it say about a kid that fits the # 1 need of the Clippers a 3 and D and yet was moved not once but twice. Kentavious has worked with a personal coach to improve ball handling. His shot is steadily improving. How about this let Van Gundy handle rotations and watch these young guys compete.

Re: Bullock!
I don't see a need to dump any talented swing player from the Pistons!? There are minutes enough for these guys. Decent mid-sized players were scare last year. Now, both SJ and Bullock appear as tough defending swing men. It's KCP who should be the happiest. Last year he played too many minutes, constantly having to hound the opposing team's best perimeter scorers. He'll be getting more rest and support. Not being run ragged might help him become a more consistent and efficient scorer.

Re: Bullock!
There are always injuries during the course of a season, so having 5 guys covering two positions is a lovely problem to have. It'll be up to SVG and Reggie Jackson to find a way to get the most out of the most players on this roster.
This is going to be fascinating to watch. Since our players are young and new to each other, it won't look great each and every game. Some games we fans will be pulling our hair out and blasting away in this forum. But, the trick is for this team to find its chemistry, to share the ball, and to develop the core guys. That also means that the team has to identify its core guys and that's trickier than it sounds.
We know Drummond, Jackson and Johnson are key core guys for a lot of years. We suspect KCP is too. But so couldn't Meeks and Bullock and Morris be. It's not out of the range of possibility that Baynes will be as well. Even Ilyasova could. Jennings isn't out of the question going into future years, but it seems unlikely that we'll re-sign him. Dinwiddie might start to show this season, but I'm not sure he'll play much for us. Blake seems ideal and Jennings is coming back. The team might like Hilliard too - but that guy is buried under a lot of players ahead of him on the depth chart. It'll take a lot of adversity for our guys for him to see much PT with us this season.
A lot of our rotation guys are scorers. Can they learn to be efficient when they get fewer shots up per game than they're used to? Will SVG use the big-time depth on this team (he legitimately can play 11 guys per game) to up the pace so the guys get more shots up. Since we can race up and down the court, and since we have so many 3 pt shooters now, perhaps a faster pace is the way to go. The more shots teams get in our games, the merrier with this kind of lineup.

With KCP out,Bullock is now getting limited minutes. Scared to shoot, but solid D.

Re: Bullock!
Sadly, so far, after the real season started, he has been a huge disappointment. Would love to see him turn it around.
