We're a pretty decent bunch over here

Lol. Im a nerd, and try to keep up on what teams closely related to my Hornets are doing. I also like this board, unlike some of the boards on realGM that are just ridiculous.
We try to keep it sane. Some boards I go to, just to see how crazy they are.

My list of boards personalities;

Knicks-Typical dumb jock. Poor basketball knowledge, think basketball universe revolves around them, when they haven't Been relevant since the 70's. Fun to visit for some of the dumbest trades on realgm.

i normally would disagree with gernalizations on fan bases but the 3 Knick friends i have are exactly as stated above.

Raptors-teenagers. Obsessed with tags, and signatures, and filled with self loathing. Love visiting that board, to read all the complaints about players they could have drafted, but didnt. Drummond has been a constant source of amusement for me. Obsessed with tanks, and tank commanders.

There are some good knowledable Rap posters, its just for every 1 good 1, there are 100 idiots. i love reading there threads on their draft picks, good read for delusion.

Boston-Homers. Holy crap this board both amuses me, and angers me. Every player they have is a future superstar, and if you say the wrong thing, you will get a suspension, or ban. Marcus smart has the same value as Noel apparently. Lmao. Your team never actually beats the celtics, the Celtics gave the game away. HOMERS.

i would say just as bad as NY fans but with more knowledge. Aboslute homers though, Bill simmons thought we'd give up Andre for JEff green.

Miami-Jilted lover/realistic. That place is like a revolving door for superstars, and since it is a newer team, thier fanbase knows what pure suckage is from expansion. Never can seem to hold on to anyone, even though the team is successful. Pretty knowledgeable fanbase.

Orlando-Young adults. Like a big brother of the raptors. Smart fanbase, but the winds of change seem constant there, and it effects how the fans view thier team. No outlandish hopes of really competing, just seemingly focused on players, rather then the team. Lots of talk of players. Fun to read.

Chicago-Boring angry guy at work.obsessed with thier own players, and managment. Angry, mean fanbase, always ready for a fight seemingly. Surly bunch. Big board, but rarely visit, as everything seems internally focused, no outside discussion of other teams, or players.

Philadelphia-Hopeless. Really love prospects, and players. Open to discussion. Good read at times.

don't know those boards, but i do know that Philly posters are avid defenders of Hinkie's plan, despite the fact that its embarrassing and they have no clue when its actually suppose to come to fruition. Almost like us when we thought smith/stuckey would become our saviour.

Man, I've been posting here, albeit somewhat sporadically(losing, and losing alot, along with an upswing in my career)for 12 damn years. *sigh* the memories.

Ive been posting here on and off for 10,

bounced back and forth between here, official pistons message board and WTFdetroit (is that still around?)

Yes it's still around.

It stands as a testament to what can happen when TPTB overstep their boundaries and punish an entire board for returning fire on Pacer trolls.

The story of its existence has been told so many times but personally as a former Mod here, a poster and as a man I'm damn proud of its existence.
Don't visit it as much as I would like but every great Piston memory I have was shared with those guys

(I feel a little dirty being here now)

New lurker reporting. With the aquisition of Donatas Motiejūnas, this board can expect an influx of Lithuanian fans (like myself). Best of luck on making it to the playoffs and beyond!

Been lurking more since the Stans. Glad to be excited again. Busy life and the compound drain from the Lions and Pistons led me to reduce posting. Hoping to have things to post about more in the future.

Been lurking for years... just woke from the dead yesterday. Few people realize that Nasty Daddy was genuine artificial intelligence that became self aware for the sole purpose of bringing this board EVERYTHING NBA. Once attacked, he moved on to other things... like the destruction of mankind.

oh sh* Irony brought his resume.....,haha, its cool to see our posters have various connections outside of RealGM. Next time i am in Detroit, i hope to set some kind of Meeting, Manocads got first round, and i have that bookmarked

Manocad's one of the coolest people to hang with from RealGM. And, he is a class act . . . in person, LOL! Be prepared to get hammered.

From this board I've met rip (the guy who told me about realGM), bstein, Uncly Mxy, rocdogg, and BMP although I got to know BMP more from the Off Topic Board. I'd say half of my posts are from the Off Topic board due to the years of Pistons suckage. It's not entertaining to have nothing to post about other than this free agent signing sucks, this draft pick sucks, this player sucks, this team sucks, etc. So I spent a lot more time in the last few years on the OTB.

I work in automotive and am always getting offers for tickets from suppliers. Lately it's all been Tigers, Red Wings and Lions since the Pistons hadn't been much of a draw. But occasionally I get offers for Pistons tickets and I'll usually offer them up to people here. I remember the old days of "you don't give out any personal information!" which I always thought was corny. This forum is no different from being in a bar where a bunch of Pistons fans are watching a game, you meet some new people, get to know them/like them, etc. and hang out. I never bought into the "meeting up in real life would be weird" thing; as a result of that and traveling a lot for work I've hung out with over 30 RealGM members in Detroit, Vegas a half dozen times, Australia once, Milwaukee a half dozen times, Florida, and California.

I'm a generous guy so I pick up a lot of bar tabs and I've got rock solid game with the ladies. Put me around beer and a bunch of broads and a good time is guaranteed. :)
