When does Beasley become available? We should pick him up immediately.

Hell no. This guy has been given enough chances on enough teams. Don't want anything to do with Beasley.

Whats our bench unit right now?

Blake, Hilliard, Bullock ,Justin Harper, Baynes? wowza..

I'd guess Marcus could play instead of Bullock but we need him for major minutes as a starting 3 so i dont know how we can do it!

don't quote me on this but i don't think guys on 10-day contracts take up a roster spot. you can sign them to two 10-day contracts and then after that you'd have to sign them for the rest of the season in which case they'd take up a roster spot.

so hopefully we have harper for 20 days and then SJ and tolliver are healthy.

I'm going to play the optomist for this one:

1. SVG is forced to play his best 5. No more silly lineups except for rest
2. Starting unit gels together and becomes greater than sum of parts
3. SJ studies film and rests his joints for 2 weeks and comes back refreshed and a higher IQ player.

If one or two of Hilliard, Bullock, Harper, or Baynes can score 8-10 points a night we'll be ok.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

No, a contract is a contract and a roster spot is a roster spot. If/when Harper signs he will be Detroit's 15th player.

i was trying to avoid looking this up...

players on a 10-day contract do take up a roster spot but there are some other rules around it, essentially if you have four injured players the league can grant you an extra roster spot during that time (usually filled by a 10-day contract player). that's probably where i got mixed up.

so the pistons have meeks, tolliver, SJ and dinwiddie on their inactive list so they could get an extra roster spot if the league grants it.

Nice find! I had no idea about that rule. Handy to know.

I agree with this logic, so long as SJ can get back into the lineup in the next 4-6 games. It's not good to have Tolliver and SJ both out, but it also frees up more time for the starting lineup. Hopefully everyone else on the roster can stay healthy until they both return.

we have to have the proposed peeps on our roster by 3/1/2016. I don't think we will realistically be able to sign anyone with Harper on the 10 day contract. though its been posted there maybe a loop hole in the rules

This was exactly my thinking. Our current starters are disgusting. Morris and Harris are so tough on switching defenses it's absurd. They are absolutely going to become a thing teams have to scout.

Man I love our starting 5.

I was pissed Stan wouldn't take him out. Dude played for awhile, asking to be taken out.
