Trade it for someone who can help right now. Otherwise, draft the BPA that we can trade later for a player who can contribute.

Re: How are you inclined to use our first rounder?
I voted BPA, 'cuz I'm greedy.
My overly-optimistic, pie-in-the-sky offseason would see us add TWO more young, promising pieces to our core, and I think the easiest / most direct way to do that would be to draft one and then sign the other using our cap space. Of course, that requires SVG and crew to to pluck the right diamond out of a rough draft class, but hell, that's what they get paid for!
That said, there's certainly a short list of semi-realistic targets for whom I'd trade our pick, but even then I'd much prefer we send out some salary with it so we could conserve at least some of our cap space for another target (like combining the pick with Meeks' expiring and Anthony's non-guaranteed deals).

Started a thread asking what pick other teams would take for their players. According to responses so far, available for #15.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
