DMO would not have guarded him any better no. The only difference is our offense would not have stagnant moments when Blake comes in. Thornton would've handled the ball as a Sixth Man and DMO would've gotten lots of shots at the post. It means we would be competing more but at the same time DMO is a bum on defense and Thornton doesn't play defense either. The only reason Cavs beat us is because they have consistent talent on the court while we can't have that. I don't think it will matter when it comes to playing the Spurs. They're going to have to get Ray Allen lucky to win a ring this year if they face the Spurs. If it's the Warriors, then their biggest hole will be at PG. Irving might hurt the Cavs team these Finals no matter how many shots he makes. Same goes to Love. I expect these Playoffs to be a make or break for the Cavs Big 3. I can see Love for Anthony, Irving and first for Paul, sign Wade and Lebron. I can see that happening this offseason for sure. But ONLY if they lose. Cavs will keep the Big 3 if they win.
Defense wins championships

Blunt but accurate.

Fully healthy D-Mo is a slick player, but we weren't getting that version this year -- if ever. Thornton isn't much different than Meeks, really, except maybe some vision. Those two wouldn't have made any real difference against the Cavs.
The Cavs are somewhat dysfunctional and certainly beatable in a series by five or six teams in the NBA, but the talent gap between them and us is too large for that to matter. LeBron is twice the player of anyone we have, and they also have the 2nd and 3rd best offensive players in the series. That's too much.
