Harris vs Mook at sf

Post#1 » by StunnaStan » Mon Apr 25, 2016 3:11 pm

I feel like in order to make the next step, we need to acquire a pf and make mook or harris a 6man off the bench. Who would yall rather start?

Me, i would opt to bring mook off bench as 6th man mainly due to the fact that mook can create his shot every play down the floor without much assistance and our 2nd unit struggles with scoring(and who to look for). Harris can do what mook does but he cuts off ball much better.

And im not saying 1 is better than the other. All im saying is you look at a team like the Clippers, jamal crawford better than jj but the difference is, crawford, like mook, doesn't need anyoned help to get his shot off. Give em the ball, get out their way. Mooks game is perfect for 6th man. He could attempt the same amount of shots he did this season off the bench and I wouldn't mind because if hes going to take 12-15 shots a night, id rather him shoot those shots when hes on the floor baynes , blake and tolliver instead of taking shots away from dre kcp and reggie shmurda jackson.

I would start Stanley at the 3 and bring Mook off the bench. Morris and Haris are a lot alike so we could probably benefit more bringing one off the bench.

Get his brother and move both of them to the bench and start Stanley. I really think Washington would bite for our pick. I think the twins have great chemistry and it would convince them to come off the bench. Stanley needs to start. He's too dynamic to not start him now that his rookie season is over. I'd imagine Stanley earning the starting role over the summer. He's gonna be so good

SVG should tell Mook to bulk up and play PF and move Harris to backup both Forward spots once SJ is ready to star.

I like Mook off the bench with Harris & Stanley as the starters. I think Harris & Stanimal both bring more ball handling/passing to allow us different looks in the P&R game. As OP mentioned, Mook's more of an ISO guy, putting him on the second unit with a "irrational confidence" guard surrounded by shooters like Bullock / Hilliard could help so we don't experience such a massive drop off with our 2nd unit scoring.

Ideally, we get enough different pieces on our bench that we can mix and match with starters and have less of a hockey line switch with the units. I don't think you can get away with playing 4-5 bench guys together in the playoffs, teams like the Warriors shift their bench pieces in to continually give different looks around the starters.

I actually have been advocating for him being our sixth man since he came here. I've seen him play since his Houston days and he was never that guy that was a spot up and forget type of guy. He's a ball dominant player that has a variety of moves to score inside and midrange, he stops the ball in a good way since he scores but it'd be better suited for our depeleted bench.

Yeah he's been shooting well, but he's a bit more predictable in what he does offensively, whereas Tobias can do most of what Morris does, but has great off ball capabilities. Defense will suffer though, no doubt, but if it flows the ball movement more, I think it may be worth it to examine from the coaching staff.

Morris and Harris are both some of our best players and are on decent contracts. I would try to hold onto them if possible. I would rather trade SJ instead of those two, and I wouldn't even do that unless we get a much better starter coming back. SJ has spirit and got some hype for playing D against Lebron. He has potential as a defensive player, but the problem is that our offense struggles for long stretches and SJ can't get us out of it. I would rather have Morris' or Harris' offense coming off the bench.

Right now our best trade chips are SJ, our 1st, and Meeks. If SVG can somehow turn those assets into a decent starting PF I would be thrilled.

Tobias has a bigger frame than Mook.
