i think the biggest difference will be teams can't use the "2-for-1 breaker" against us, where they foul Drummond with less than 24 seconds on the clock at the end of a quarter so they can have him miss one or two free throws and then they get an extra possession.

Those paying for TV rights want predictable times for games. Their desires will prevail. The rule will be tightened even more sooner rather than later.

I think this is part of it, but more importantly, games are becoming unwatchable. Hack-a-Shaq makes them unbearable. Silver had to do something.

Of course, you are right Lip. I am just trying to be realistic about WHY the rule will actually be changed.

The average joe on the street would be better at free throws in front of a crowd by now than Drummond with the amount of practice time he probably puts in.

I'd say there's no reason why he shouldn't improve as his career goes on, but there's NO reason he shouldn't have improved already! I think SVG is right when he says its psychological.
