Morey tried to pull a fast one on us, and Stan rightly walked after getting a closer look. If we traded for D-Mo and then pressured/suckered into not voiding the trade - we'd then have had to pay Motie to justify the trade, so say $15M a season, so it would have been DMo and his time bomb back or Ellenson, Leuer and Boban.

Truth be told, a healthy D-Mo might be worth that "package".

Does a healthy D-mo take us over the top? I don't think he proved enough in his few games to say yes, then again was he 100% healthy. I don't think we will ever know

From what I've been told he's still not happy in regards to Detroit. Granted, the person I heard this from has been right about some things and very, very wrong about others in regards to the Rockets.

One thing that I can guarantee is that Motiejunas will be very professional about his situation no matter how it unfolds. I still think that Houston was waiting for someone to make an offer so that they could match it; but no one is playing ball since it's pretty well assumed that the Rockets will match, so no one is wasting their time. Times like this really make me miss Sam Hinkie running the Sixers!

Why doesn't he "bet on himself" and sign the QO to be a UFA next off-season with a complete NTC this whole season? If his back is 100% then he could surely find an insurance company to cover any risk at playing out this season for the $4M or so QO.

We're the last team that would sign him.

Not only is there history there but we've already got our minutes at the 4 allocated and have 2 players on roster that fill his role. I was excited about the trade when it first happened but its clear there's health issues there. If he was healthy he'd be looking at big money this offseason.

First off I want to scream from the mountain top that I am NOT an insider, nor would I consider the person I'm talking about an "insider." They are just a person with a perspective due to certain business relationships. While on that topic, if you ever read about anyone claiming to be a "Rockets insider" take it with a huge grain of salt. The Morey regime controls information like a well-made valve.

That said, the feeling is that Motiejunas knows that he's worth far more than the QO, and there are some who claim that he does not want to go through free agency again next year. He wants to be in Houston, and Houston wants him back. This is pretty well known across the NBA according to this person I keep mysteriously referencing. I don't know if it is stubborness on Houston's part, or if they have some sort of trade working and don't want to sign him yet. It sounds now like there might not be a deal until after training camp starts, which I find to be very disappointing.

For the first time his agent actually spoke out a few days ago (I didn't know that BJ Armstrong was an agent!), and it just sounds like a waiting game. This person I talk to tells me that the back is not an issue; but then again, that person told me days before the Prigioni signing that it was 100% guaranteed that the Rockets were bringing back Jason Terry, so...

For the record - I still think that Motie would have been a fantastic addition for your team. I don't think that the fit is there now, but it could have been awesome. On a personal note, I'm still happy that the trade was rescinded because I'm a huge fan of the guy's game. I'm still looking forward to our next voided trade in 20 years. Got to keep the tradition going!

Assuming he wants to be in Houston AND Houston wants him back the ONLY reason he's not signed already is they disagree in a "fair" figure!

I'm guessing he wants near top dollar despite the fact he's damaged and Houston wanna low ball him cause he's damaged

It's up to D-Mo to prove he's not damaged and that's not gonna happen unless he takes the QO

That makes absolutely no sense, if Houston is willing to match anything they should just pay the man, and "just because everyone knows Houston would match" shouldn't deter other teams for at least inquiring. Also I don't think they'd match anything as they were about to trade him for a mid round pick .

You obviously know more about the situation in Houston , can you clarify any of that?
