We should try and trade for Vince Carter...

Post#1 » by Kilo » Tue Nov 29, 2016 8:16 pm

I think this team needs a former superstar level veteran they can lean on and learn from. He might be available now with Conley done for the season unfortunately. VC would be great for Stanley I believe - Paul Pierce would be another, but he ain't going anywhere.

Baynes for Carter and a fodder player would work. Or we could make it a three way with Baynes heading out on our end, and maybe Memphis getting a PG in return.

Wow what a death blow to Conley and the Grizzlies. The Conley/Gasol duo was actually winning games too.

I doubt they blow it up for a 6 week injury.

I'll take him as long as it's for free. He's so old he could hit total decline as soon as he's moved from his comfort zone.

Not worth giving up Baynes or SJ. I don't mind a vet or two around, but then we also need to figure out who to drop.

Beno for Carter makes some sort of sense. Carter becomes our 6th man and we get a vet presence that can shoot the ball. I think Beno actually bringings more value to the team, but i wouldn't mind Carter in Blue

Underachieved while being 23rd on all time scoring list? A lot of greats never won anything. He's fourth all time scoring amongst active players behind only Dirk, James and PP at the moment.

I wouldn't trade Baynes for Carter. He's still clearly the backup center and even if Aron leaves for nothing in the summer it's probably better for Detroit overall than giving him up for a guy who will most likely not play for the Pistons. Getting a solid veteran mentor for Johnson would be great, but not at the expense of a current rotation player. And veteran =/= great mentor, nor are players who are good mentors a good fit for mentoring just any player... if that makes sense.

Where's Iverson on the scoring list? Let's bring him back!

He already did! Even with a hot streak of games (a couple weeks ago) he's shooting 38% overall and 28% from three.

And people complain about KCP...

Of the trade threads this is the better of the two. Bad, but the other one was so bad i couldnt even bring myself to post in that thread.
