Sad thing is they were never looking confident. Always making pump fakes before the shot is clearly a sign of this.

Have to think maybe Stanley could have played a bit tonight considering Tobias, Morris, and Leuer were combined 1-14 from 3.

I figured we would lose this but on the bright side we have a good chance to make up big ground over these next 4 or 5 games.

Re: Game 24: Pistons (12-11) @ Hornets (12-9) - 7:00 PM EST
We got open looks just didn't make them.
One thing about RJ, as i always point out, he holds the ball for 14 seconds which isn't necessarily the problem but more so when he goes into the PnR and its not there, 9/10 times he's going to reset and go at it again. Meaning that our other players get less touches. When our offense is good , our players recognize when its time to get movement and let the ball change hands. RJ is no longer our clear and far best player in the PnR, meaning that when its not there, RJ needs to get rid of it.
Char announcers even noticed that RJ is always just looking to score and not find his teammates.
Another thing is when Ish is denied on the PnR he's normally not in the same spot, the help side forces him out but he's normally moving towards a different location on the court, where as RJ stays in 1 area leading to our team staying in 1 area. As always RJ also maybe thinks about running off Def rebounds, but not really... smh
His defense this game though was encouraging. he was fighting over screens and generally putting in effort
While again yes its early to judge RJ,

Baynes had him boxed or better rebounding postion but it was a airball on Hibberts side while Baynes was looking at the rim. I have had this happen to me a number of times and it sucks especially when you have position. Technically it was a pass .lol

Yeah WTF, SVG is right both teams shot poorly and they won getting to the line. They shot 29 FTs to our 8, That's starting to get ridiculous.

Can't really fault the PGs about the assists. They got people good shots but ...

didn't get to watch the game but i noticed that when looking at the box score as i was staying updated.
i think the reality is we don't have guys that are good at drawing fouls. guys that are good at drawing fouls can get the defense out of position and then the defense has to overcompensate which leads to more contact.
when you see guys like dwyane wade (just using a recent example), those guys can seek contact, maintain their balance/control and then still go for a shot. the defense obviously respect their ability to finish so that tends to lead to more fouls as well.
there's different ways to draw fouls and none of our guys are looking to draw them, simply make the shot. hopefully that's something they develop as they improve their offensive arsenal.
even someone like dre doesn't draw as many fouls as he can because he's happy setting up his hook shot wherever he is instead of trying to get closer position after he starts backing his man down. that said, it's probably a good thing because we don't want him going to the line more lol.

We shot a better percentage, out-rebounded them, had more assists but they got to the line 29 times, Dre got there 7. Please NBA, explain that to me. 29 fta to 8. I understand homecourt advantage but damn!!

I just watched the full replay. That basketball rim seems super tight. A lot of in and outs and you can hear the "bong" sound when the ball hits the rim. Very weird ball game.
No wonder the Hornets shoot terribly at home.

Road game. The Pistons have no status currently that helps them on the road. There were plenty of plays where they could have called fouls for the Pistons, but didn't. Whereas, if Kemba drove and darted into someone he was going to the line. It's the NBA. All that said, had anyone in addition to Andre (he should have cared more) Drummond had it going, they would have won that game.
