b) the exception is when you don't have a worthy backup at that position
c) the double exception is when there are slim pickings across the league at that position

Let other teams get into a bidding war for him, then. Worst case scenario he's just a rental, and it's likely he'd contribute more than Baynes and our 11th-15th men combined.
If SVG is really willing to trade Drummond, having Noel (or Okafor) would have really softened the blow.
