define "quality years". being a human victory or loss cigar?
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

We are currently paying:
Boban - 6-7M a year
Josh Smith - 5-6M a year

That's roughly 11-12M thrown away for two players that never seen the court

That 12M, hell even that 6-7M could have bought us a quality bench scorer or defender

Yet everyone on here is praising SVG moves

What is the difference bw bringing in trash players or brining in good players that dont fit well together?

The result is the same: trashy to tread mill team - in the end again SAME RESULT

Not good enough to advance in the playoffs or even make noise

Not bad enough to get a top 5 pick leaving junk like Stanley and Ellenson available to us

1 - Smith HAD to go. It's that simple

2 - you ain't signing anyone of any significance with $6-7 mil - Ish Smith is an anomaly

You're whining about payroll like you could have done better when the truth is we signed Bobo, Jon & Ish after missing out on Horford

If we get Horford then the same payroll problems exist but no one cares cause we'd have HCA in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs

Other than Horford who did we get a meeting with? Dudes didn't even use us to up their price FFS because teams know that no significant free agent is gonna sign here and they'd call the agent's bluff!

Soup was making 6mil a yr to be our 3rd C 13yrs ago. The cap has almost tripled but Boban is only 20% more in price.

+1 to Spider and Pharoah's replies.

Also, Smith was a Joe Dumars signing, not SVG.

Are you trying to imply that you'd rather have Smith still as a Piston jacking up airballs from beyond the arc?

Considering Smith is jacking away 3s in China now, I'm extremely glad he's away from our young guys.

He'd be a terrible vet that sets terrible examples to other guys. So thank you SVG.
