Isn't this an "I told you so" post? #irony

So you want us to win at a time it means nothing and drop our draft slot further? You're an idiot! We're not the Spurs or some great franchise that has decades of being competitive, a great front office and roster. We have resembled dog **** the past 10+ years and not tanking leaves us exactly where we are today. I'm so **** done with retards that argue against tanking. PHI, LAL, MIN & PHX all look like they can be power houses in the next 5 years and the correlation between young talent and tanking is proven. We have nothing to lose by tanking and maybe if Joe "cheeseburger" Dumars had tanked long ago we could have already been competing for rings instead of the 8th seed or 13th-14th pick

That's totally BS. If Thibodeau was a Detroit coach with that roster, every guy here would be claiming for his head.

Sixers have waisted Noel, Okafor and Embiid is not going to play more than 80 games in his whole career.

LAL could lose the pick and they have nothing valuable in terms of start or build a project around it.

Suns got Bledsoe before and they got Booker who is a pick you don't tank for, so idk what you talking about guy.

Hey, don't forget the Kings, which are tanking since 15 years ago. Almost every team who is elite on this league haven't tanked, they just made it good moves, got unique talent through development or betting high in some trades.

Not sure what you are getting at with the bolded.

Sixers have Embiid who if healthy is already a top 30 player in the game, as well as Simmons, Saric and Covington and other lesser but useful talents in Okafor, Mcconnel, TLC & Holmes. This is before mentioning they have the possibility of leaving the draft lottery with 2 top 5 picks in a loaded draft. [better than our situation]

LAL have Ingram, Russell, Randle & Clarkson, as well as the 3rd pick. [Better than our situation]

PHX got Booker, Chriss, Bender & Ulis, as well as the 2nd pick. [better than our situation]

The 76ers have waisted Noel and Okafor but that comes down to human error, they still had the opportunity which is the point. If the Lakers lose their pick it just means they have it the year after but they still have the guys mentioned above which is a great start. Booker is still relevant because PHX tanked at the end of their season once they realised they weren't making finals. Just because it wasn't abundant throughout the season doesn't make it relevant.

If you consider the contenders as GWS, CLE, SAN, only the spurs weren't created via tanking. They may have just been terrible at the time they drafted lebron and not tanking but the supporting cast were. The kings have tanked at the end of the seasons for many years but they are also a bad example as they have the worst FO in the league and have been a joke for the better part of a decade. You clearly don't know what you're talking about if you actually believe elite teams haven't tanked. When a team isn't a free agent destination, and said team lacks talent, the only way to build toward contending is via the draft because otherwise you are forced to overpay middle tier free agents which only help you contend for the 8th seed. We lack the required assets to trade for a star, please suggest some of these transactions we could towards building a contender which don't require tanking?

Transactions to avoid tanking...

Drummond to Brooklyn for BroLo! Nets get a young recent All Star for Lopez

RJ & our pick to Dallas for Powell & their pick. Mavs swap bad contracts by moving down a little in the Draft

We take a PG with the Mavs pick

BroLo, Jon Boy, Bobo
Mook, King, Powell
SJ, Harris
KCP, Bullock
Pick, Ish

That's a playoff team ;-)

Is the wink because you know that roster isn't a playoff team? Lol

If we are going to rebuild as that roster suggests, I'd prefer to trade Drummond for a high pick or young talent, not for a 30 year old who's age and style doesn't fit wth the core. Same goes for Mook, we should cash in on him while there is still value

BroLo doesn't fit the system? That's cause our system is the problem!

PnR with 2 guys while 3 non snipers stand around the 3 point line is not a system! It's a disaster!

A offense with a lot of movement is what's needed.

And despite the disaster season at one stage we were within 5 wins of HCA!

The space between 4th in the East and 12th in the Lotto ain't that large

Sixers are a mess. We are not even sure if Embiid will ever be healthy enough to play 60 games in a season and Simmons hasn't even stepped onto the court yet. They could end up being duds 4-5 years from now for all we know. Thus, they are no better than anyone until they prove otherwise with their play. Sixers could still end up in the lottery for another 10 years.

I am not sold on Ingram, Russell, Randle or Clarkson. They are all exciting young players but I don't see any chemistry on that team as they all look like individuals to me. Not sure on Ingram yet as he is so young.

PHX got Booker, Chriss, Bender & Ulis, as well as the 2nd pick. [better than our situation]

Chriss, Bender and Ulis all look like backups to me on good teams so I am unsure how their situation is all that good.

FYI. Warriors did not have to tank to build their championship team. Curry (7th), Klay (11th), Draymond (35th).

Thus, 2 out of the 3 teams did not tank to win Championships which defeats your teams MUST tank to win premise.

Smart GM's build championships via SMART Drafting regardless of position in the draft, smart Free Agent Acquisitions of role players and starters and then making smart trades to aquire assets while giving up less.

Nice post BadMofo
Cavs were gifted those picks so Lebron would go back. Warriors got so lucky eh? We need to get lucky one of these days with our picks

Would have rather came out with a win, but if it wasn't in the cards tonight, that's cool too. Peace out Palace. On to the Caesar Dome... or whatever...

Speaking of the name, which is Little Caesars Arena, I'm surprised they didn't come up with Little Ceasars Coliseum instead. That's the right fit.
