The last two years Stan has committed nearly $30 million a year to Jon L, Boban, and Galloway of which none are really starter caliber players.

We have a player in Reggie Jackson who makes $16 million per year and got benched to end last season during a playoff run even though he said he felt fine.

We have a "franchise player" who only works hard a small amount of the time, is a mental midget, and can't finish games because of his FT shooting.

The East has gotten much worse but we're still likely at best a 7 or 8 seed and at worst getting the 9th or 10th pick in the draft.

We're running a decade straight of being a crap team and its getting pretty old.

Exactly this. Posters who say we can't have an opinion because we don't know what's going on inside the org, while also not knowing what's going on inside the org. Stan power tripped and overpaid for players that will kiss his ass.

Miami also played incredibly well down the stretch and is likely better than us. Whiteside is what Drummond should be. I feel like 7th and getting rolled in round one is our absolute ceiling. If we still had KCP I feel like 4th or 5th and winning round 1 would be possible.

Umm, what?! How does KCP give us a higher ceiling than the considerably better SG that we just replaced him with?

When people say KCP was our "best player" I took it as a passive aggressive shot at Reggie and Andre, but now I'm seeing that a lot of people that go around saying that genuinely meant it. I really wish I saw what some of you guys saw in him.

Tobias Harris was our best player IMO & it wasn't close.

KCP was next best.

For those stating KCP was our best player...

If you are the smartest student in the lowest level maths class at school, does that make you good at maths? Everything is relative! there's a huge reason nobody gave KCP a deal until he was unrestricted and nobody tried trading for him, he's not that good!

Quite frankly I'm over the moon we no longer need to debate whether we should throw $20m+ at an average at best shooter and overrated defender. He really won't be missed

he didn't get offers cuz teams had already used up most their cap space. plus he was restricted in the beginning of free agency with teams knowing we'd match any offer. He's not worthy of max but you can't say he's not that good. he's pretty solid and never had a consistent PG during his 4 years here. I can confidently say he'll average at least 18 ppg this season on more efficient shooting. Someone will give him a multiyear deal next year worth 19-20 mil per

KCP is in the perfect situation now... Rich Paul did a great job. I've covered this in the KCP to Lakers thread.

Playing at a fast pace with Lonzo is going to make KCP look amazing, plus his natural progression and mentality is going to work wonderful with that team, that coach, that pg.
Don't hate KCP too hard, you'll end up looking stupid.

However the Pistons are also going to be a lot better with Bradley, because Bradley's an upgrade, and fits more with Reggie's slow pace.
Plus the Pistons' best players are all due for a bounceback for various reasons (health, playing to strengths, playing natural positions, etc)
And 4 out of 8 EC teams lost their best player. I've covered this earlier.

Both the Lakers and the Pistons will be better than last year. It's sad to lose KCP but honestly for this ONE upcoming season its a win/win, not a win/lose. Long term, time will tell.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!
