Another cliche guy that had a million dollar body with a ten cent mind. This league has seen thousands of them wash out. Not all of them were lucky enough to run into Dumars beforehand.

Guys like Gerald Wallace, Derrick Williams, and Smoove all fit the same exact bill. Not skilled enough nor smart enough to have a long career.

Yeah, they never developed jump shots and altered their game to improve with age when their athleticism waned. I think Williams can shoot a little, so I can't completely rule him out- plus, he's never really been a good player in the NBA. Just drafted way too high.

Idk if it's just me, but a squad of rondo, cousins and smith could be nothing but a black hole of bad attitude on the court. The Pelicans, if they sign smith, will do nothing but decline. It's not like he brings vet leadership or anything. Just a broken jump shot with too much confidence.

Lmfao. Never thought about them 3 being together. Do it New Orleans! Anthony Davis will love it

I thought Smith played fairly well when he went to Houston after we waived him. That was a few years ago though, and his athleticism has likely declined since then. His athletic ability is really his only asset, and if he doesn't have that his NBA days are pretty much over.

Crazy to think this last season would have been the final year of his Pistons contract. Could you imagine if we didn't waive him and he stayed on the team that whole period? I still think SVG waiving Smith was the best move of his tenure.

Return to Detroit Pistons
