Langlois is a paid shill, so you can pretty much dismiss most of the nonsense he writes. The only thing that matters is the play on the court, and in a season where the 5th seed in the East will probably be under .500, or very close to it(like last season), its time to finally do something. No more excuses, no more sour kool aid, no more BS.

He's been writing pieces about how healthy Reggie's knee has been for almost a year now. :lol:

i think i say this every media day but langlois is 1000% better than the vikings media guy, mike "wobby" wobschall. praising every player is putting it very mildly. there will be a question about a player and then he'll say he yeah he's good, but don't forget his backup and third stringer, they are as good as it gets!

last year he had the audacity to call the vikings running game "explosive", despite being the worst in the league.

so yeah while KL is optimistic in his articles i would very much take that over straight up delusion.

also: it's nice to hear quotes from media day when everyone is in the best shape of their lives but i can't wait for the first preseason game. that's where we start to see what's what, with the regular season obviously being the real test.

There just isn't much to get excited about. Avery Bradley will be fun to watch, but he's no star. Whether it's Johnson or Leuer starting, they'll basically be a huge weak link in the fence on one end of the court.

SVG is still talking about restricting Reggie's minutes, which brings up the question of whether his knee has made any improvement. And, our "superstar" centerpiece, Andre Drummond's big improvement over the summer was a nose job- no talk of actually working on improving the vast array of weaknesses in his game.

If anyone is posting on here, they're a fan of the Pistons franchise and want to see the team succeed in some form or fashion. But, that doesn't mean they have to be a fan of this incarnation of the team. It's a roster that lacks actual talent, with an antiquated coach that clearly can't handle the dual roles he desired when he took the job.

Our biggest reason why our record may improve this upcoming season is strictly based on how much worse the East got over the summer, nothing to do with internal improvements, unless you consider creating a logjam of shooting guards who can't move up or down a position, and leaving us thin at SF is an improvement?

lolwut? A team full of 20-somethings is incapable of internal improvement? Easing reggie along after injuries derailed his season is a bad thing? And can we cut the "no talent" BS already? We have (when healthy) one of the most explosive scoring guards in the league in Reggie, the most athletically gifted center in the game, and enough offensive and defensive versatility to balance out the rest of the roster.

I respect the majority of your posts for the "dose of reality" that they usually are, but this is just plain overkill on the pessimism spectrum.

They're just firing up the engines early so they can be in mid-season complaining form if we lose the first pre-season game :wink:

"A team full of 20-somethings"

20-something is a pretty big range. Most of our rotation is in their mid 20's.

Rj = 27
SJ = 21
AB = 26
Tobias = 25
Dre = 24

Leur = 28
Ish = 29
AT = 32
Galloway = 25
Bullock = 26
Boban = 29

That doesn't mean they can't improve, but once you've been in the league for 5+ years, people rightly become a lot more skeptical of your "upside". Mid to late 20's are supposed to be your prime years, not your developmental time.

I think everyone is at least a little excited to see what SJ brings and if Kennard and or Ellenson can crack the rotation. AB should be fun and will hopefully bring some new life to the team. Boban is like a circus act, so there is definitely entertainment value there.

Call me blindingly optimistic if you want, but I see no reason a 25 year old can't still improve upon his profession.

This debate is silly.

If you've got a desk job, sure. If your job is highly dependent on physical ability, that's going to peak in your mid 20's.

Some people act like KL is feeding you straight Russian propaganda. Should take what he says with a grain of salt of course, but he's not that bad. Obviously has connections and is good for some insight.
