The PnP with SJ

The hand off to Galloway

The ball movement that resulted in a Ish 16 footer

Nice to see some new wrinkles in the offense

Pity I posted about that stuff 12 months ago and SVG was too stubborn to adjust then

Based on reactions to single games around here, thank God we didn't draft Donovan Mitchell! Guy went 3/11 last night and 0/2 for 3s. Of course, this is silly, and I fully expect him to be a good player. ;-)

I did not care for Eminem being there. Svg indicating it was some sort of political statement. I support my president and Eminem trashed him for publicity. When will they learn to keep politics out of sports?

Nice win.

Glad Galloway shot well. He probably shouldn't have gotten into the game ahead of Kennard, who clearly outplayed and outminuted him throughout the preseason, but at least he produced. For Kennard to get an outright DNP, though, is just BS. Sorry. No other coach would pull that ****.

What if kid rock made the initial intro and a week earlier he made a song about how Obama was a racist? Double standard.

Perhaps the biggest adjustment from last season is SVG, focusing on each player's strengths and getting RJ to play team ball and defense. When Bullock comes off suspension we'll have more flexibility at SF and bench scoring. It all starts with defense and we looked much better. Avery Bradley is a major upgrade from KCP and his attitude is infectious on D.

Kid Rock played what 6-7 straight concerts to open LCA. Ardent Trump supporter, confederate flag waving, American flag WEARING, Ted Nugent embracing Republican. What's your point? And he's toying with running for the Senate.

You claimed it was a political statement using Eminem. Pistons org decided to make it. They want to fumigate the Kid Rock Trump supporting stank out of "THEIR LCA". Gores and Stan are on record supporting and encouraging the players to speak out if they so desire.

Henry had a nice game, and likely would not have played much or at all if Tolliver was able to play. Hopefully SVG took notice, and finds a way to give him consistent PT.

I was disappointed Luke didn’t play. It’s opening game and he was our top draft pick. At least give the guy some minutes. Glad to see Galloway have a nice game though. We suddenly look like we have a fairly deep guard rotation.

Also, what’s the point of signing Boban? He had a monster game against the Hornets last season, yet he doesn’t play at all. I know he’s matchup specific, but if he can’t play in that game, what team can he play against? Talk about a waste of money paying him to sit on the bench.

I saw guys hustling and sharing the ball last. I saw steady play from the starters and support from the bench. We had guys struggle shooting or struggle with fouls yet those guys played hard and in the flow of the game.

This was a good of things to come. Hopefully we can build on this.

Eminem is a Detroit staple, and they played Lose Yourself before tipoff. Seems more than appropriate to have him kick things off for the Pistons.

Also, he didn’t make a political statement at the game, so it’s a non-issue. He’s a Pistons fan, and it’s cool he was there for the game.

The Detroit Pistons drew just 9,528 fans for their first regular season game at Little Caesars Arena.

The new downtown Detroit arena has a capacity of 21,000.

Tickets were being given away until shortly before tipoff.

The Pistons also struggled with attendance at The Palace of Auburn Hills in the suburbs. They finished 25th in attendance last season.

Oof. Team had been crud for too long I guess with no real draw or star power in a super star league.

Nice win, but:

Why on earth didn't Boban play? If he doesn't get minutes against Dwight, when is he going to play?
Also disappointed that Kennard didn't see any minutes.

Why is it desirable to keep politics out of sports? I'm fine with players/entertainers using their access to the media to bring about positive social change. If you want politics out of sports, then let's just skip the national anthem and color guard. Oops, I get what you're saying - let's get politics out of sports if it doesn't agree with MY politics :banghead:

just watched the game back, thought the defense was rock solid all game long. if they play with that kind of intensity they're going to be in a lot of games this year.

offensively they didn't light it up but i liked their execution, i didn't feel like the offensive flow stopped too often.

was really impressed with SJ, shooting aside obviously. he was super active, made plays all over the place and what was also very impressive is that he only had one foul in 40 minutes, and he got that foul with two minutes left in the game. he won't shoot so poorly every game so i'm hopeful he'll have a good year. love he told andre to shut the **** up, dre definitely seemed to have gotten the message.

love AB. he seems a lot more comfortable attacking the paint than KCP was which really helps the offense.

harris looked really good obviously, you could see the hornets really respected his driving ability which opens up his pull up.

little disappointed kennard didn't play but really hard to complain because galloway played well.
