Drummond just doesn’t seem to have that competitive spirit that practically defines great players and separates them from...well, players like Drummond.

I tend to think Drummond's issues are tied more to low bball iq and poor technique than competitive spirit but its most likely a combination of all.

Really? I've felt like he looks way too apathetic out there. Like he doesn't care about winning.

Embiid wasn't very politic, but too often it's a fair description. AD appears to have 'buckled down' on FTs. One step at a time I guess. The response was correct, but he needs to show a better competitive edge. Worry about his 'standing' a little. The 'Max Contract' demands it.

There's a huge difference between understanding what he's attempting to do and singing his praises.

While the majority crapped all over everything late last season I posted most of my complaints in October & November

Maybe we'll repeat that this season?

The system, rotation, character issues, motivation issues, handling of young players, double standards...I've posted about all of them off and on for over 12 months.

I'm going to guess Drummond will fold.

I still think its a bball iq issue. When he plays 'hard' on defense he typically picks up dumb fouls (reaches, push offs, biting on pump fakes etc). I think he plays timid in order to stay on the floor. He doesn't have the defensive discipline or judgement to guard people tough and not foul.

That's a learned skill though. Just like shooting, you learn to keep your hand up on a closeout by closing out over, and over, and over etc Eventually, you don't even think about it.

:o Andre better not jump at those pump fakes. Yikes. Embiid killed the Lakers last night.

Yeah he put up one of the best stat lines in the history of the league last night when factoring in 7 blocks and 7 assists.

Embiid plays like Hakeem Olajuwon, if he stays healthy he could not only be the best center but the best player in the league someday.
